I can't find a Prime locally

I had the same issue you have. No Primes locally, test drove the Volt, but also have been driving a Prius for (10) years and decided to take a chance and order a Prime without a test drive and without first seeing the color I chose. I finally got to test drive one and I'm now sure I made the right choice! I find the Prime seats much more comfortable. This car is beautiful inside and out and if you like driving a Prius, you'll love driving the Prime. But, if Android Auto is more important to you, it's your choice. It means nothing to me.

 

Based on what I saw on autotrader.com, I was under the impression that Performance Toyota in Fairfield (route 4) had a Prime for sale. When I stopped by, the salesman said that their Prime was a rental car. Check with Performance to see if you can rent their Prime for a day.

 

So no member here near you who would let you look at their car?

 

I just checked the Performance website. They list a Prime available for rent: $70 for a day. Rental agent # 513-645-9310

 

honestly, fly out the the NJ/NY area. We have a $3500 cash back offer on the Prime and a $1000 cash back on the VOLT. You can find plenty in stock in the area. If you fly allegiant it's $36 one way. Stay in the city for a night a see a show then pickup the car of your choice and fly drive back (it's a 9 hour trip, I drive it almost every month (have grandkids in Ft Mitchell)).

the money you'll save by buying in the NY/NJ area with the cash-back will more than make up for whatever the flight/hotel costs you and you can get a vacation out of it to boot.

Toyota of Lexington has a Prime advanced! They only have one prime

 

Lexington is about a 90 minute drive from zip code 45222. Finish your research, call around to the others within 200 miles and make a day of it. Perhaps it's just me, but when I spend that much money...for anything...I want to know how it tastes.

 

I drove 12 hour one way to buy a Prius two years ago

 

I looked all over Florida for a Prime to discover the Toyota's SE Region doesn't supply them to dealerships. Just drove up to New Jersey were there was an abundance of the Prime on their lots. Bought a Prime Sdvancedand drove it back. The NJ region offered a $3,500 Factory rebate. Very happy with my new eChariot!!

carb state. not just new jersey, but most of the northeast. it's all about credits for california. kind of complicated, if you're not familiar.
as for toyota not wanting to sell them, i think they are making them as fast as possiblele, but world wide demand prevents them from getting to all 50 states to date.

 

It is a game like when the Prius 1st came out. But the car is sure worth the hassle of the hunt.
