Last time I purchased a vehicle was 2006. Thus out of the car game for over a decade.

Ready to have common sense thus for a Prime Advance. Not in a hurry. But can purchase anytime if a good deal comes along. My credit is in mid 750s.

What is a good deal for 2017 Prime Advance?
    When should I purchase?
    Should I wait for 2018?
Should I go to a local Toyota dealer and ask a salesperson to contact me when one becomes available?

I am so lost. Any advices are appreciated.

It really depends where you are located. So far from what I've read, the best deals for a Prius Prime located in the NE region of the US comes with a 3500 toyota rebate on top of other incentives. Some people are getting below invoice by stacking incentives.

While states like California ranges anywhere from Invoice to +500 over invoice. I am also looking for good deals within the California region. But so far, most dealers are giving me quotes with the 1500 cash rebate directly from Toyota. The deals for a Prius Prime Advance kinda suck. So if anyone knows of a good deal in TX or California? Let us know!

i don't think they are selling them in texas yet. maybe you can order one, not sure. read through the 'prices paid' thread. as mentioned above, they are giving them away in the northeast, all others pay cash.

I doubt they sell them here in Texas, although it's now home of Toyota North America. Too many gas hog lovers here, I believe, although I'm starting to see more Gen 4s, and there are lots of Gen 2s and 3s.

    Go northeast, young driver!

Nope, Gulf States Toyota is "order it only" Prime country. Been there did that.

I am in the process of doing it. It has been a very trying experience. I will explain more fully after I get the car in my hands. Expect it to take much longer than you could ever think it would.

If you are set on buying a Prime (or any other electric/hybrid plug in), you should buy it before the GOP & Trump passes their new tax plan. This gives you the best chance to get that $4,500 electric car tax incentive/credit for the 2017 tax year.

It is highly unlikely that incentive will exist in 2018 since the GOP plans to cut it.

Its still not guaranteed you will get it for the 2017 tax year either if you buy it now, but you have a much better shot at receiving it if you buy your Prime before end of the calendar year (12/31/17).

That is the only advice I can give. I am just hoping they keep stalling it until the new year before its able to pass, that gives an even better chance for those who made the purchase in 2017 to receive the credit.

My new blue ("Magnetism") Advanced rang in at $36K with tax and tip on 05/17/2017
    Factory rebate = $2.5K
    Tax rebate = $4.5K
    __NYS rebate = $1.1K
    Total Rebates = $8.1K

    Total co$t = $36K - $8.1K = $27.9K

Finally have my 2017 Advanced Prius Prime in my hands. It has been a very trying experience.
First my story back ground. I first bought a Prius in 2008, trading in a Chevy Suburban because I just got pissed off at high gas prices. I decided that I actually liked the Prius line and replaced 2008 with a 2012. Loved the car and never had any problems but it was time to replace.
Fast forward to October. I was trying to decide between XT5, RX350, and Prius Prime. Finally, decided on Prime. Now here is where story gets good.
I had since retired to Florida. An area deemed non-Prius habitable by Southwest Toyota. Add to that all (or vast majority) new dealers charge a “dealer fee” of about $600-$900!
No problem, I would purchase out of state. Since I had previously purchased from N.J. Toyota dealers and there was a $3000 incentive it seemed an easy choice.
First contact, Oct 10. After several emails, the first of which I explained that I was a return customer paying cash and asked if they would ship to Florida, we agreed on price. But then when asked to put together a firm delivered price the dealer just stopped all contact. Two weeks wasted.
Next dealer had no real issues other than they seemed very hesitant to ship. I was unable to fly and drive back due to medical issues. Long story made short, I finally got it delivered today. It took 40 days to wrap a simple sale. Shipping only took 4 days to ship 1100 miles.
It has been a lot more complicated than I ever thought it would be or needed to be.

My Prime Advance is my fourth Prius. I had a 2006, 2010, 2015 PiP. The PiP was the same color as the 2010 and I wanted features like fog lights and blind spot monitors. The Prime has them; the PiP didn't. I got 0.5% financing. I'm happy. Love the car.,

After harvey killed my prius '11 in sept, i flew into CT and drove my prime back to houston. 1866 miles over 3 days. i left CT on friday, and i got home around 6pm on sunday!

i saved about $4000 after incentive and dealer discounts.
