    so one each

    Thanks,
I had one question that I asked in the comments because it was not in the article:

Does the EU version of the Prime come with standard, Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS P)? This is a dynamic cruise control, collision avoidance, and lane keep assist which is not standard in the Hyundai hybrid or EV. It was TSS P that drove us to buy the Prius Prime over the Volt or any other car that increases the price $3-4k to add it with trim and options upgrades.

this is the fun of the global nature of forums bob, trying to keep up with the differences in the specs of a car in the different countries is a fun games

Even within the EU the difference in specs of the Ioniq are mind blowing, let alone adding in US, Canada and south america

I think I actually like not having TSS P as driving with normal cruise control on requires me to be situationaly aware more and the need to off and on the cruise control and vary the speed with traffic prevents the whole task of driving long distances from putting me into a dangerous semi-sleep mode.

That's a legitimate position, but I have a different take. I am here in New Jersey with fairly congested roads, even at off-times. I find that I can't ever use my cruise control because I need to slow down so often. In 90,000 miles with my Prius, I've never used cruise control and barely know how to use it.

I use CC even when going through cop zones on the local streets.

Even if the car has DRCC it can be turned to regular cruise. You can either hold the On button (3 secs?) or there is a menu selection to turn it off.

The TSS also includes collision avoidance, and lane keep assist - at least the first of which will soon become mandatory fitting in cars. The DRCC also has a braking and alert response which can keep you out of trouble, not as savage as AEB though. With traffic becoming more and more complex and congested, I think we should take advantage of all the helps we can get.

The lane warning, while it seems a gimmick, I'd rather have it, if it's going to alert me (and start to correct) if I do start to doze off.

Me too. I read the article yesterday and the author didn't seem to grasp the safety equipment included as standard on the Toyota but seemed blown away by similar on the Hyundai. The two models are very similar ideas, but in announcing the difference in cost to run each there was no mention of of the additional components in the Ioniq that could throw a wobbly. There was also a mention of the Prime's gearbox and and of the CVT, (not eCVT) so did he know the difference. I know we all try to make allowances for the aggressive driver's of the Auto Press, but c'mon!

They call it Constant Speed mode, p.401 in the Prime owners manual. Press and hold in the Cruise On/Off button for 1.5 seconds or more to deactivate the radar controlled vehicle-to-vehicle distance mode.

Clarification: My manual quotes were for the 2017 Gen 4.
The Prime has 2 Navigation manuals and likely has a higher page count.
Much of the useful information is found in the PriusChat addendum though.

    Navigation Manual 304 pages
Warranty & Maintenance Guide 68 pages
    Quick Reference Guide 40 pages

Pretty obvious why manufacturers went to PDF files.
