Craig, did you need to remove anything first to install the steering wheel applique, or did it slip right in there under the top cover?

Hey David, it slipped right up under the top cover very easily. I cleaned the original white first with an alcohol wipe, then let it dry. I slipped it on, applied pressure all around, and it fits perfectly.

Yeah, I may be late to the game with this one. But I just installed the black appliqué shifter today. Definitely make sure you order the 2017 Prime Shift Applique cover and not the regular Prius cover. The regular prius appliqué is different in that you actually pop the white piece off, unplug the wire and then plug the black piece on and snap it back on. With the Prime, you simply pop the black piece over the white piece. The prime cover is different since the reg prius has one less drive mode button.

Haha, I was just about to post a pic as well. But since mine looks exactly the same, no need now haha. I like it better than the white.

I am getting a black steering wheel cover. White portion of the steering wheel just looked more weird after I installed black shift appliqué.

Thanks for the pictures. Now I know the Prime is an overlay. I still like the white better around the shifter. However, I am more interested in getting a white cup holder applique (is it available?), preferably a replacement not an overlay. The black cup holder area shows too much scratches...

I don't think there is any, but I am going to ask anyway. Is there any steering wheel black applique that would also cover the white switches part? I really hate those accent porcelain white in my black interior. I wold love to have all the white parts be gone. Shifter cover and lower wheel cover would be perfect for making them look much better, but still leaves white on those switches. There is multi switch without white accent available from TOYOTA, but $380 is bit too much. Beside, it looks too complicated to replace the multi switch panel. #5 in this parts diagram.

I agree. The China bone looks infinitely better than the scratch prone piano black finish.

You can just attach small pdf's here, no need for drop box.

My steering wheel appliqué arrived from China today - complete with home town 3M 2-sided tape. For now I just snapped it in place without using the tape. Like it much more than the white.

If I was in your guys' shoes I would just have at it with mat-black Plastic-Dip.

And I'd hope @Prius Team has noticed this thread: the expense and effort, to remedy an unpopular design decision.

I'm about to purchase and install the black shifter applique for a 2017 Two, and I just want to make sure I'm getting this right. The factory white applique snaps off first? If so, is it just a matter of gently prying around the edges? What wire is being unplugged? I didn't see this in the instructions online, so I just want to verify with those who have done it.

Also, there is only one type of black shifter applique, correct? e.g. no option for gloss vs matte black
    Thx!

How well did it stay in place just being snapped into place? I'm interested in the same part.
