I think these posts should be written in the form of Missed Connections. 'I noticed you immediately, glistening in the Texas sun. You passed by quickly, oblivious to me. My eyes lingered wistfully on your silhouette in my rear view mirror. And then you were....gone.'
It was the eve of the weekend. Coming toward us in the opposing lane, we saw one with a red, curvy backend... (last Friday, in Burnsville, on 35W) (today's was my blue color)
i saw one at the dump the other day, might have been the same one as before, because they both were grey.
Just saw a Blue Magnetism Prime in Crabapple, GA headed up Highway 140 to Hickory Flat. I was 4 cars back and couldn't catch up.
Until I see one in the wild I am going with the theory that I am the only one in the country driving a PRIME.
Finally, after two months of ownership, I finally spotted another Prime in the wild -- parked at the local commuter rail stop. The local dealer from whom we bought our Prime had several available, so I was pretty sure I would see one sooner or later. Here is a beautiful "Blue Magnetism" parked next to my "Magnetic Gray", both with the Advanced trim. I was tempted to wait around to see on which train the owner would return, but I just left a note on the driver's side door praising the owner's good taste in cars. It's worth noting that the "Blue Magnetism" looked great in natural light. The one on our dealer's showroom floor was the ugliest ultra-marine color I had ever seen. Reminded me of a poorly maintained swimming pool. Now I realize that it was just the florescent lighting in the showroom -- a very bad mistake for a place trying to sell cars.
So I'm driving home behind a tractor, pull into the exit lane and the tractor/trailer in front of the guy in front of me pulls into the exit lane. What do I see? My first Prime in the Wild! In Illinois! In the Midwest! There's still hope!
And while I didn't have a picture, I saw a red Prime parked at work today. First time that I had seen another Prime there.
Still haven't seen another, on the road that is. Your sighting was close to the road, but not 100% on the road. Someday you might spot mine, or vice versa. People tell me there is another Prime in my little town, a silver color - yet, that one has eluded me too.
I think the judges will have to take this under advisement to see if it counts. Not really on the road but a good catch anyhow.
My Toyota salesperson here in Golden Valley, MN just told me that Rudy Luther has a bunch of new Primes ready, for sale.
Well, the thread title is "in the wild", not "on the road". This Prime is not on the road, but it is also not on a showroom floor, or a sales lot, or as my only previous viewings - in a photograph. To me in the midwest, it not being a photograph puts it "in the wild"! What is it's destination? I don't know, but I can say there is a Toyota dealer less than an 1/8 mile from the westbound exit, and this truck jumped into the eastbound exit ramp. Maybe it's just passing through a flyover state? I was just damn glad to see it. I have to say, I should upload a video, not just the jpg picture. The shock to suddenly see it appear in front of me was half the pleasure of the experience.
First Prime in the wild! 9 months since my delivery and there it was. A red one on route 31 in Crystal Lake illinois. I dont feel so alone anymore. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
You know, those of us having never (or even rarely) spotting another Prime (wild or not wild) should just all meet up somewhere with our cars, have a Prime Rally, and just finally get over this whole not having seen another Prime thing.
All right you sucker!! You came up with the idea; you can organize it!! Git 'er dun son!! Although perhaps you might wait a bit til that outrageous weather you guys get in the Midwest and East calms down a bit!! Posted via the PriusChat mobile app. AChoiredTaste.com
