I'm VERY sorry, but that THING is just a cosmetically altered Prime. It don't do nuthin' for me!!! I want a bloody REAL GT COUPE!!! Way less weight (1000+lbs) less than my car, whose hatchback interior could accommodate a bigger, solid-state battery, that could be charged in minutes, not hours, and that as a plug-in hybrid would solve ALL my automotive needs: practical 2-seat, VERY fun to drive, can haul groceries, musical instruments, computers, AND is socially responsible! I'll sign my butt up for THAT, and trade in my Prime Advanced for that!! Come on Toyota deliver; we old, financially-more-stable buyers, are waiting!!

Uncle Bob,
Too many doors, uglier than sin (I know, it's my opinion, but my money), limited range (my Superleggera Prime Coupe would have at least a 700-1000 mile range w/11.5 gal fuel tank). A hatchback works better for me. And since Toyota would make it, it would be damn reliable. Oh yeah, MANDITORY SPARE TIRE!!

My friend has the i3 and the acceleration is almost neck snapping. The interior is also very unique. Pretty awesome car.

Negatives are looks and I can’t even charge at home so not an option for me.

 

Well if you're going to change the requirements:

Some assembly is required:

• doors - super glue the rear ones closed or call them cargo loading flaps
• ugly - 'D*mn it Jim, I'm an engineer not a sheet metal artist.' (DeForest Kelley)
• limited range - strange, my wife and her two dogs consider it a feature
• hatchback - flat floor about 6" higher than Prius Prime
• reliable - like the Hyundai warranty, a longer, needed, one than Toyota
• spare tire - working on it

Damn it Uncle Bob, I'm only a Frenchman, but my Escargot Ancestry, (steeped in Latin je ne sais quoi!) demands a bit more elan than those Germanic trolls are able to create with their Helms Transporters. We don't want or need another peasant-hauling minibus!! Couldn't you visualize a lovely curved creation inspired by the House of Bertone; our friends the Italians (fellow Latins) have produced such beautiful automobiles! A Tubolare Zagato bodied Prime chassied Wundercar would lift our spirits (while probably emptying our wallets), and would be so much fun!! Leave the krauts to sausage-making and beer-swilling where lie their gifts!!

P.S. All my Alfas had spare tires, and just because you might have tremendous fuel range, doesn't mean you can't stop when Nature calls; it just means you can stop at a nicer place than a gas station!!

 

Very much like my first car:

• 1500 cc, air-cooled, engine
• 6V electrical
• replace rear seats with single, frame bed
• carried tools, spare parts, grit plug cleaner, and flattened cardboard box
• rebuilt engine when returned from Okinawa

So now I have:

• 660 cc, water cooled, engine
• 385V electrical
• passenger and driver seats recline
• still under warranty, somewhat protected from my evil plans
• coded to be a better car
