Hey guys. I am new to Prius. I read the manual , it says first 1000 mile will be break in period.

So when my Prius at 1100 mile, I pick up a friend. But he push me like crazy.

On the freeway, he let me drive very fast during the 30 miles trip
means sudden accelerate to 70 mph many times , and sudden break/stop many times.

Will it be any damage to the car?
(after that, I notice the car will start gas engine every time when I press gas pedal, and the gas gone faster than before)

He also use his hand hit the dashboard of the front passenger side, will it any damage to the electrical components?

    Thank you very much

The driving should be fine, hard braking isn't good for either brakes or fuel economy. Some cars "learn" your type of driving, and adjust the computer so gearbox change points, throttle response etc to match your driving style - but I'm fairly sure PRIUS doesn't do that.
Not sure about why he hit the dashboard - but should be OK unless it was an unduly hard thump.

I agree there should be no harm done.
You mention the car going faster than before. There are 3 drive modes controlled by a button near the shifter. When I picked up my car it was in Eco mode. Normal mode is more responsive and PWR mode is very responsive. This just changes hit the pedal responds. The color around the speed changes too. From memory, Eco is green, Normal is blue and PWR is red. I usually drive in Normal mode but it is a personal preference.

I believe the Gen 4 Prius can learn your driving style when in Power Mode, Alan.

Thanks a lot. He is kind of drunk, he said he will be late for something then push me to drive crazy.

He didn't use fist hit my dashboard, but unduly hard palm for couple times.

Thanks, I was saying the fuel economy is not good as before, like 1 gallon only 55 miles now, before it was 75 miles.

Well, it is my friend's friend.

I do see a button "driver profile" can remember your driving preference, including AC, music, etc.
Not sure about whether it will remember driving style, will check that.

Not as late as he would have been if you'd stopped and thrown him out of your nice, new car. :D

When you drive fast the fuel economy goes down, way down. Normal. I wouldn't worry about it. Now that he's gone and you start to drive normally the fuel economy should go back up.

I doubt there was any damage to the car from driving that fast. Your driving record may be in danger though ;) .
