Torque Pro app ?

    Ok so my torque app showed no problem cells. So i removed battery and did my load test and found no bad cells. What I found interesting was the battery connection copper plates and very little corrosion which I found odd for a 2005. When I checked the serial on the cells the date was 10/13/2012......Someone had already changed the HV battery.....Since I just bought the car a month ago I do not know the history. I have not had a battery problem but just making sure everything is in good shape before I had it off to my son. Bought the car for 2,900

    Now, I'm completely unfamiliar with Torque Pro app, and apparently there is another Techstream app. I've tried to do a bit of research, but a lot of discussion is pretty technical.

    As I already have the OBDLinkLX, for my Nissan LEAF, and it is listed as compatible with the Torque Pro App, so I'm hoping I can get it running.

    So I can probably figure out for downloading the app, even though I don't do apps much. I'm thinking I know about USBSeawolf2000 and the additional functions that he has written, and I might be able to figure out how to get the hidden files into the Torque Pro app.

    Is it then you've got all the choices from these additional functions, or are you limited to a certain number of choices, or even to only certain choices if they are complex? Of course, at the moment, I'm only interested in getting the reported cell voltages.

    I rebuilt the 2004 hybrid battery with 2010 cells, tried to do everything correctly, but it is throwing the maddening codes of C1241 and C1310. It seems that to be able to definitely figure out if the hybrid battery is doing OK would be the prudent next step.

    I did manage to get the Torque Pro app running, and added in the extra PIDs from USBSeawolf2000 (and thank you to him for all he's added!).

    However, I saw here: What gauges do you have on Torque? | PriusChat that goldfinger has a NiMH Delta Volt gauge, but his Prius is a 2016. I'm wondering if there is such a Delta Volt guage for the GenII Prius.

    If it isn't there, I'm not sure if it is a big procedure to add it. It would just seem to be the difference between HVB Max Block and HVB Min Block, but I'd have no idea how to do this.

    The other additional question I have is if the Prius is giving ABS codes (C1241, C1310) are there any helpful PIDs to monitor that?

    Also, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but with the Red Triangle and the codes, the Torque Pro app still says there are no codes. I thought it could also clear codes, but if it can I haven't figured that out either.

    I'm not sure about the ABS codes. I'm guessing that the Braking System ECU is not monitored by Torque Pro.

    There is definitely a PID for Gen 2 that will give you NiMH Delta Volt. It is near the bottom of the list of the PIDs that I see on my phone. (Actually 83rd from the bottom, there must be a thousand PIDs or so). I did not find it until someone else mentioned it. Before I added it to my screens, I had been downloading a log of Block Voltages that had been sampled every second into a spreadsheet. I used Excel formulas to find the minimum and maximum block voltages each second. When I became aware of the NiMH Delta Volt measurement, I added that to my log. When I compared the differences I calculated using the Excel formulas to that shown by the NiMH Delta Volt gauge, I found that they generally did not agree exactly, but that most of the readings were fairly close. The greatest discrepancies between the 2 methods of measuring Max minus Min appeared when the ICE was charging the battery. Both methods would show spikes under those conditions, but the calculated spikes were larger and more frequent. It is my belief that the spikes showing up under either method are inaccurate and misleading and should probably be ignored. It is apparent that all of the blocks do not start receiving the charge from the ICE in the same instant. The spikes result from some blocks receiving the charge a fraction of a second earlier than others, in my opinion. If the difference does not persist for more than a second, I would guess there is nothing to worry about.

    I still can't find it even after you mentioned it. I don't know where the list of the thousand PIDs is either.

    I've only downloaded what usbseawolf2000 had done. I know there must be more, and for other vehicles too, but I'm not sure where they're at.

    The app comes preloaded with a set Prius specific pids.
    You just need to activate them.

    Click on gear icon in lower left of the Home screen
    Settings > manage extra PIDS/Sensors.
    Click on the three vertical dots in the upper right.
    Add predefined set > Prius Gen2 (2004-2009)

    "It" [the HV Battery] did not post these codes. As you have already mentioned, these codes were posted by the ABS/VSC/TRAC ECU.

    C1241 means the ABS/VSC/TRAC detected low B+ voltage. ––> Check the health of your 12 V battery.
    C1310 means "I am told by the HV Battery ECU that it has problems, therefore I will change my behavior. I posted C1310, so you know why I'm behaving the way I am."

    The C1310 means there is/are HV Battery ECU code(s) set. The fact you don't see it/them means your code reader is not reading the HV battery ECU. Once you have updated your code reader and determined the HV battery codes, you will be in a better position to know where your attention is needed.

    Once you have charged or changed your 12 V battery, clear the codes and see which codes come back.
