Hello, please if there anyone can help me, I JUST bought A prius 3 Persona series 2015 ,and and CONS for 400 Miles is 37 not around the 40 th , what i have to check all battery cells in same range of voltage
how many miles/km on her? what tyres and pressures? what does the 12v measure, stone cold? are the air and cabin filters clean? is the oil level too high? is the battery cooling intake grille clean and clear?
Just a few things I can think of that can impact miles per gallon: 1. Mostly short trips, when the engine doesn't warm up. 2. Lots of air conditioning use. 3. High speeds. Fuel economy drops in a very linear manner as you get into higher freeway speeds. 4. Driving style: overly aggressive acceleration, not coasting up to traffic slow downs, and so on. 5. Tires: under inflated, and/or high rolling resistance. 6. Failing 12 volt battery. How many miles on it?
From the OP's location of Amman, Jordan, the weather is in the low 90's during summer days, and being the capital city, perhaps there's lots of stop and go traffic? I would guess that even with a well maintained Prius, if it is used in constant A/C operation and traffic congestion, mileage isnt going to get to EPA suggested of 50mpg, or 500 miles for a tank.
Jordan would use the Imperial gallon not the US gallon used by EPA.. Their EPA equivalent would be higher too because their gallon is larger.
yes i live in Amman , and it is a mountains area and a lot of traffic, before few days the temperature was 100 F, 43 C,- here we use KM/L but i have using MPG since my Prius , but i worried because of some of my friends has the same Prius and there CONS, above 40 I will change the plug sparks, motor oil, injections and make sure of hybrid cooling system "" i have cleaned before a month " when I bought the Prius and i will get get back to you soon, to share the experience
Spark plugs should not need to be changed. Check your tire pressures. Higher pressures tend to give better fuel economy but a little harsher ride. You should be using a synthetic 0w20 oil. Many of us prefer either Toyota's oil or the Mobil 1 brand, whichever is less expensive. It is always a good idea th check the hybrid battery cooling fan & filter. If it gets clogged the battery can get too hot, affecting fuel economy.
Maybe yes, maybe no. Probably best to stay with whatever the Owner's Manual, and/or authorized Toyota dealerships recommend in your country. Sounds pretty hot there.
I just want thank you guys, the CONS. avg is getting high to be 45 , i like share my experience with you i have reduce the tires pressure and it work perfect
That's a better number. The fuelly average of real life drivers are averaging 44 mpg for the 2015 Prius. However, reducing the tire pressure will rarely increase mpg, but will usually hurt it. Unless you meant by "works perfect" as having a softer ride?
Check your battery's cooling system. If the battery gets too hot, the HSD controller will stop using the battery. There could be hair and dust plugging the air filter to the battery fan.
Driving in the mountains in my opinion is severe duty. You may want to try a shorter interval. But you're running a good synthetic oil which should take the abuse so it may not matter. Pixel XL ?
