Hello, has anyone got there Prime tinted. I am thinking of 3M color stable @ 35% but dealers is quoting me $440. Does that sound right or is that overpriced. A few reason for the excessive price is due to the wave back window the prime has and also this price includes the few small windows by the side mirrors. Any suggestion...THANKS

Thats a rip! I paid 260 for all the windows except the front 2 small pillar windows. 20% all around. I wouldnt pay more than 300 for any tint job.

There was a thread here about tinting earlier. Someone said that while getting tinted the battery died because the tinting place had the radio going for 3.5 hours or more.

If you tint, does that affect the camera facing forward from the mirror in terms of seeing things as good as non tinted?

I will, soon after the peak lows are 40 or above.
    Ceramic or course.

That was me with the dead battery due to the window tinter blunder. Went with ceramic because I need all the help I can get in sunny Arizona. It was $450 for the at-home service. Could definitely have been done for less at the shop. Skipped the windshield due to the electronics which is also something to keep in mind with the type of tinting you install.

Mine was $350 for all sides and rear. Nothing on the windshield. Ceramic, 3M I think? Done in Valencia at Fresh Window Tinting. The guy told me it took longer than he thought due to the rear glasses (both are curved). Said he would charge more next time since I was the first Prime he did.

Seeing some great deals on Groupon. The question then becomes will any or all of these shops up charge due to the Prime's unique back window.

Man, the Prime is a nice looking car. Great pics above. Tinting does make it look bad a$$.

I haven't received my Prime yet but I paid $225 to have my Prius V tinted and that included a wide strip across the front window. I did this at a shop not associated with the dealer. I would check around first....can't be that much more for the wavy window.

The tint makes it look 100x better. Of course that goes with most cars. If you get the front windshield strip of tint, you could see if they'd do something special like leave the area in front of the cameras and sensors without tint.

I tinted all my windows the same, 40% (darkest allowed in MA), ceramic. All windows tinted with the exception of the windshield. $250. Tint King, Billerica, MA. Awesome job - 90 minutes at their shop. Formula One Pinnaccle Ceramic tint. Absolutely love the look and the difference with the ceramic over carbon is huge in the cabin.

I tinted myself front windshield with 3m crystalline 90 and driver, passenger and back with 3m crystalline 40. Shaping the curve back took sometime, but was fun doing it.

Just picked mine up! I'm gonna go with Llumar 30% al the way around and 20% on the little trunk window. Good idea? I don't want it to be too dark. 35% is too light.

I got max allowed in VA (35% rear and rear-sides, 50% front-sides, no front windshield). I'm glad I did. The wave was no problem, although it did surprise the tinter. He said he would not have raised the price for it.

What about the rims. What direction should I go in to not lose any mpg or EV ranges.
