Same deal here at Con Edison (may only be for employees). Expires Sept. 30th, I believe. It think they're trying to clear out their inventory before the new model Leaf makes its appearance...

Nissan has partnered with a number of utilities for the $10000 rebate. (It's Nissan's money.) JCP&L and PECO are included. I believe ACE is as well but haven't looked for their flyer. The ConEd offer is valid for customers and employees.

Through my employer I can get a S or SV for around 9k after discounts. Actually one employee bought one and loves it and took a loan with zero interest for something like 72 months.

That starts to make a whole lot of sense if you want an EV or need a 3rd car for high school driver etc. also if you're retired and you just want to withdraw some IRA money tax free. As we retire we need to be shifting Traditional IRA money to Roth IRA, but that incurs taxes. Then sell the car at a profit. How many Leaf's can you buy?

I am not a big supporter of the huge incentives, but I gotta be pragmatic. In another 10 years I may want a zero maintenance vehicle anyways.

There resale value is pretty bad. It's like when cash for clunkers. You get a great deal now but can't sell or trade without huge negative equity.

You and I know you are joking, but there seem to be an influx of gullible and anit-EV people on this forum. Don't feed their confusions.
