It's not a smog issue if not vented? Except that inspector might not be open minded, get sticky?

any modification done with smog devices will be inspected. Its a California thing only, they're very strict with smog inspections :(

Yikes, thats going to be hot as Redding tomorrow. Tomorrow is supposed to be the hottest day of the year, definitely a good idea of hid your prius from the sun. The going to work early is the only bad part, solar panel prius owners are SOL either way. (points to himself)

Going in early also leads to leaving early :).

I have coworkers who live in Berkeley and it will be 95 there tomorrow:(. Problem there is they don't have AC as you rarely need it:eek:. I bet they'll be staying late tomorrow .

And with Labor Day weekend traffic, the earlier the better(y).

It slips out from the top like a cup holder, it is printed out of pla+ I have it measured tight so you have to use two hands to slide it out.

Bet that video upload of you passing out would get massive views, the ambulance scene heh. By the way, put some out-takes together fixing cars, that would be funny to watch if you get a chance.

Oil Catch Can, typically spliced into the hose between Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve and intake manifold, to trap oil.

First of all thx to NutzAboutBolts for his videos and danlatu for the OCC tips. Installed the OCC behind the driver's side headlight. I am at 100K miles and I did the intake cleaning a week ago and changed the PCV valve and installed the OCC at the same time. Even after only 1 week, the PCV output hose is yellowing a bit and the hose feeding back to the intake is clear. Maybe that is an indication the OCC is working? The car doesn't burn oil noticeably, but it did suffer from the initial startup engine shake. Hopefully, the OCC will help prevent it from recurring.

The occ will eliminate that start up knock and yes your oil catch can is working. Good job. I am glad to see prius chat members sharing there experiences and pics. The oil catch can will not catch 100% of the fine oil mist but it is better than nothing. In the ball jar pic you can see that both hoses are brown and it continues to work. It has 30k miles with the oil catch can on and no knock.
Lingenfelter oil separator , not sure how well it works, maybe 100% filtration???
