    Now there's an idea!!

Slightly off topic, but I had to take my wife to her followup visit with the eye doctor this morning since she isn't allowed to drive yet. (Cataract removal yesterday.) So my EV miles were used up when I got her home from the 55 mile round trip and then left to go to work. I zeroed the trip computer at that point and it claimed 60 mpg when I arrived at work 9.7 miles later. That's on 45-50 mph speed limits with several traffic lights. Much as I love the new bells & whistles on the gen 4, I really can't complain about what I drive now.

Yeah I think the PIP uses the battery more, it being bigger.

@jerrymildred has used it on the Prius cars he owned other than his PiP. Many users here have found it extends the life of the battery. One of my coworkers used one to improve the battery on his daughter's Civic Hybrid.

Dude! What's your problem?? We already discussed this. Not to mention that your logic is non-existent. Want to see me break a lamp with a perfect hammer? Gosh!! Must be something wrong with the hammer. Ever heard of a kid burning down a house with perfectly functioning matches? Sheesh!

    Rant off.

I wonder if this is similar to deep cycling an aircraft battery. Years ago when I flew a Beech King Air I remember something about having to deep cycle the battery every so often.

I actually read the thread. I think it was an unbalanced battery to start with.

Probably so, at least in part. But I imagine that the Prius battery has a lot more cells to get out of balance. But I'm not an aircraft mechanic. I have a friend with a Beechcraft Baron; I should ask him if I remember.

It was just for the King Air's. I think they had lithium batteries. The Baron just had batteries like a car battery.
