Prolong Battery Systems. Extending the life of your hybrid. – Hybrid Automotive Just saw some YT videos on this product and never knew you could deep cycle the battery 4x a year and get several more years out of it. Makes sense too because the car doesn't do it for you. $700 cost for the charger, discharger, harness and instructions seems like a bargain for keeping those bad cells from causing the cycle to get too narrow which really shortens battery life! Only an hour to install the harness and you're good plus it can revive dead batteries and get you more time to make your next move and save up for a new battery or new car. On an unrelated subject, you can revive dead tool batteries by jump starting them so the charger thinks they are good. Won't make them 100% but will increase service life and save lots of cash. Do a YT search on it. There are a few ways to do that.

Lots of users here and lots of threads about it. GREAT product, imho. But not for Prime or any other Lithium Ion battery. Jeff says he's working on that, though.

It should work on the US Gen 4 Trim Two and Trim One that have NiMH batteries.

I can't believe it, someone telling @Prodigyplace he's in the wrong forum. :p

Not really, although it has happened before. Is this pick on me day? @Tideland Prius already did it twice! :(
Some people assume all Gen 4 US Prius are Lithium Ion. I believe somebody took modules from a wrecked Gen 4 and used them in an older Prius.

A level 2 wreck, with the older battery type?

Hey didn't mean to step on your toes, lol. It's just you've escorted me to the Gen 4 exit so many times, couldn't resist. ;)

I thought it was strange that you missed that, @Prodigyplace. :D I should have known you were just looking out for others. You don't miss much. Me, on the other hand? If I was a detective, they'd fire me in a heartbeat. :ROFLMAO:

Correct, Trim Two. I cannot find the posting right now, but I remember it has a picture. They put the modules into the older battery frame.

It should work for the Gen 4 NiMH models, but I don't see those yet on Jeff's list. I'm thinking he just hasn't verified the procedure, or maybe just hasn't updated the pull down list in his store.

Here it is. They put Gen 4 modules into a Gen 2 Prius. It appears it was @jerrymildred 's friend, Todd.

Thanks. I missed that thread earlier. I'm sure my wife's '07 feels more alive than any of our 2nd gens ever felt now that it had cells from a '15 in the battery.

Maybe next swap she will get ones from a 2018 Hybrid Camry SE or XLE. They are still NiMH although the LE is Li-Ion.

I'm hoping there won't be a next swap. Maybe before then, I can talk her into at least a Gen 4 if not a Prime. :D

Will that be before or after you volunteer your PiP for a Gen 4 battery swap? :D
