And the speed. The equivalent power for a gas pump is around 5 megawatts. My local Costco pumps 1 gallon every 8 seconds and I can go, say, 60 miles on one gallon. That's an equivalent charge rate of 27,000 miles per hour. Superchargers are literally 1/100th that fast.

    Source?
The reason I ask is their cells 2710 seem a little heavy compared to prismatic batteries.

I would be surprised if another car wasn't more efficient.
Someone took a photo of the Monterey sticker of a long range Model 3. It showed a MPGe of 126. Nothing yet on the EPA site. So while the sticker must have been a preliminary sticker, I don't expect the final number to be very different.

Thanks, but no fix required. If I ever do "feel the need" for your help with spelling, punctuation or expressing myself though...I'll ask for it. ;)

Pointing out an individual needs doesn't match a large segment of the market isn't judgemental talk.

    Thanks,

We have some data points with the BMW i3-REx and BEV when the traction battery increased:
    BMW_versions.jpg
So in the case of the BMW i3-BEV going from 60 Ahr to 96 Ahr:
    • 60% - increase in Ahr (96-60)/60
    • 40% - increase in range (112-80)/80
    • 4.8% - decrease in efficiency, MPGe (118-124)/124
We can do a similar analysis of the BMW i3-REx from the BMW i3-BEV
    • 88% - increase in range (150-80)/80
      • 119% - increase in range after coding (175-80)/80
    • 5.6% - decrease in efficiency, MPGe (117-124)/124
I admire the Model 3, in fact all the Tesla models along with the foresight to make a proprietary SuperCharger network. But living in 'fly over' states, a small gas engine and generator, even if the engine is not optimized, makes a lot of sense. For longer distances, the Prius Prime exceeds with excellent block-to-block speed.

Nice article about Model 3 specs: Long-Range 310-Mile Tesla Model 3 Appears To Return 126 MPGe

A fella by the name of Andrew Rhodes recently uploaded an image of a Model 3’s frunk with what appears to be its EPA window sticker within. The image is a bit fuzzy, so it’s impossible to make out all the details, but what immediately stands out is 126. as in 126 MPGe.

If true, the Model 3, presumably in longer range (310-mile) form, is now the second most efficient electric vehicle in the U.S. behind the Hyundai IONIQ Electric at 136 MPGe.

    Also some EPA specs:

    Nice ride!

FYI, Prius Prime is 133 MPGe, 25 kWh/100 miles. So replace the ICE, tank, and exhaust with batteries ... hummmm.

But as it applies...to say someone else is wrong for a choice "they" make is.

    Absolutely!
    That was not my intent.

You statement had no qualifier. It simply stated that BEVs were not a replacement for gas or hybrid cars.
I simply added a qualifier that the statement wasn't true for all drivers.

I don't believe so. It looks like the EPA sticker, and AFAIK Tesla hasn't started building these for Europe.

And, they don't report MPGe in Europe, they report kWh/100 km. (Or, on a PHEV, they'll report a l/100 km or miles per UK gallon (of fuel only, not electric usage) figure that is based on electric range plus 25 km, with the electric usage in small print.)

To those upset that some of us aren't treating you like fairy princesses.....keep in mind you are coming on a thread all about the Model 3 to promote your anti-ev views. If I do that on one of your threads I wouldn't expect to be met with a surge of compassion and support.

We're good Zythryn...but "I" will clarify my qualifier...again. Unrestricted for everyone...which gas and hybrid do current provide.

...and to those members that like to "reflect their character".
I am pro any vehicle an individual wants...including BEVs. I have repeatedly praised the manufactures and those here who's lifestyle, logistics and finances promote their use. What I do not condone are the occasional "holier- than- thou" attitudes and comments condemning those who do not. Remember the "Prius Repellent" truck and the anti-truck "lady"? I would only remind others not to make the same "type" mistakes in promoting BEV.
