Yesterday I went up and down the siskiyou pass and was curious to see the performance of the car. This is the highest point on I5 and grueling for cars and trucks alike. Fully loaded Semis do 1MPG (235 L/100km).

    Here was how I drove:
    -DRCC @ 70mph ascending
    -65-75 descending (B mode)
-A/C on 'LO' temp setting and full fan speed
    -PWR mode

MPG average at the summit: 20.0 after 7.9 mile climb
ECO score at the summit: 47/100
    Battery ascending: 3-4 bars

    MPG average after descent: 44.3
    ECO score after descent: 47/100
    Battery after descent: full

Having driven everything from a BMW 7 series to a Corolla over this pass, I can say I'm very impressed with this performance. I don't think any other production vehicle could get 20 MPG @ 70mph

Thanks for sharing the stats. I know when climbing a 5% grade at 45 MPH in the smoky mountains to the highest point (roughly 7 miles, I averaged 21 MPG. I was also impressed how it handled and how B gear held the car speed back pretty well. Question for you roadwarrior, did you get your decent MPG off the computer or off the phone or scangauge?

Any idea of the MPG just for the descent?

Also, going uphill, how easily did the Prius accelerate back up to cruising speed if DRCC caused you to slow at any point?

My decent was maxed at 199.9 MPG but it differed using torque with a obd2 adapter, saying roughly 45 - 50 MPG. I went downhill for the most part for 21 miles from the peak and my trip odo still read at 199.9. Pic is my profile pic to the left.
