Hello. Last month i buyed an Auris Touring Sports Hybrid (Gen III power-train). So i joined the club.
Hi all, I'm Jason in Kansas City. Been lurking/reading/researching for about 6 months (such a wealth of info here!), and I'm now the owner of a 2012 Prius Three! Got a great car with tons of life left - just under 54k miles, one owner, meticulous service records, extended warranties, plus the dealer gave me almost 2x the Blue Book price for my dying 1999 Ford Taurus as a trade-in. My soon-to-be parents-in-law each have a Prius (one 2010 and one 2011), so I had the chance to take a weekend test drive when visiting them in Omaha last winter. Being a big & tall guy (6'2", 315lb), space and comfort were concerns going in, but I had more room than in the Taurus. I was sold, it was just a matter of finding the right car at the right time. Last weekend turned out to be the perfect time! As a commuter for my teaching job (25 miles each way), having a reliable daily driver is a must, and being able to cut my gas consumption by ~60% is even better. The hatchback/liftback design and cargo capacity will be a huge help when transporting music instruments for my job as well. Anyway, glad to be here. Here are a few shots of my sweet new (to me) ride!
Congrats on the purchase and first post . Used to live in Wichita and would use Olathe Toyota for parts as needed when we would drive up. If you are a DIY type, there are plenty of videos to help with typical maintenance items.
Only had my 2013 v5 almost 2 weeks and its just fun to drive! I'm an IT person and think the techie stuff is awesome. Driving part time (400-600 miles on weekends for Uber/Lyft) means a lot of drive time. Only thing left for me to try: parking assist. Will do that several times in an empty lot first. I Just purchased a 2011 Prius for my long commutes. Always been a toyota fan but never thought I would own a prius. So far I like it and im looking forward to what kind of mpg I can achieve!
Not really a Newbie. Been gone a long-time away for a while. Originally I had a Gen II Toyota Prius '06. But now I have a Gen III Toyota Prius '14. Made a few "modifications". Toyota Corolla S alloy wheels and tires. Blacked out badges and black-chromed emblems... Will have more upgrades later...
I used these forums to help me decide to buy a 2017 4 with the AT and Convenience packages, the dealer had it ceramic tinted for me. It's my first new car and have been very pleased with it. I installed a Draw-Tite hitch from etrailer for my bike and just recently upgraded all the interior and reverse lights to LED with a kit from PrecisionLED Ordered this from amazon, it had plastic tabs that fit perfectly into where the metal clips that held the grab handle in place were.
I had ceramic tint put on mine 3 days after I bought it. What is that on your "oh crap!" handle as we call them here (keeping it clean) Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
It's a sunglasses holder I got off Amazon, since there isn't one with the AT package. I'd post the link, but still have 1 more post to go (after this one) before I can.
Congrats! I had the same car and color but a model two. I really love the color. drive safe, enjoy the site!
We were a Scion family, I traded in my Hot Lava iQ for a Prius C. Twice the car and close to 15 mpg better. This is my wife's xD and a friends xB with my Prius in the background. SM-G930P ?
