let me know when you get to florida, maybe in May after the Canadians go home and the roads are less congested with 90 yr olds driving at 15 mph... its perfect weather to go topless, not as hot and little rain

    HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

Had a false start with the MIG welder on Saturday. I was making a bit of a mess at the start. I Finally found out that I was using the wrong size MIG wire. Rookie error. Sunday went much better, although I am still working on my technique for sheet metal welding. By the time I get to welding anything visible from the outside, I should be much more skilled at this. For now, things are progressing but slowly.

Things are getting a bit topsy-turvy in the garage at the moment with all of the different equipment I am using. I get an extra long weekend next weekend to clean up though. ;)

I am trying a new technique for the next pieces of metal to get welded in. I wasn't happy with the results I was getting from welding two pieces of sheet metal edge-on at a 90 degree angle (while nearly standing on my head at the same time to reach them.) These next pieces will have backing angles attached to bridge the gap where I am welding. I should have cleaner and faster results that way.

I received a notice from Photobucket that they now want $10USD/month to allow 3rd Party hosting. I'm not about to start paying for something I did for free for many years. I'm going to close that account. If there are specific photos that you need, please send a pm to me.

Anyone who can suggest an alternative site where I can host the photos for free, please let me know. Until then... text only folks.

This question is worth its own thread in the website section.

Ever try Shutterfly? My wife has had an account with them for years. Every trip or family event has pics there.

Might be a good one for this purpose (y).

Are you averse to uploading photos right here to our beloved (if often ballistic) PriusChat?

Have you got your own copies of the ones in the closed photobucket account?

I agree. One of the original purposes of this thread was to document the conversion. The photos are a large part of that documentation process.

For another forum I have used imgbb.com. It may work here too.

Honestly, whenever I've posted stuff with images on PriusChat, I've just uploaded the images right here. (Even if I want to include them again in another post, I can just copy the URLs from the post where I first uploaded them, and put those in IMG tags.)

The only times I've fussed with hosting elsewhere have been when I wanted to post an SVG image, which this board still seems, in the 21st century, to reject (at least last time I checked ... any mods listening?) or video.

I have all of the original images. I'll be out in the garage a lot this weekend, but I'll investigate your suggestions in the evenings.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Stay tuned Prius Chat fans. The Firebrid Hybrid Convertible Project will have its own Facebook page as soon as I can figure out how to set one up. All of my missing photos from the forums on Prius Chat will be in an album there once I get the chance to load them. Maybe I can link to them from there!

That will be better than here. The moderators would need to update your old posts here. :(
Perhaps, for historical completeness, you could link to the old Lexus forum where you first started your inquiry.
    Please keep up updated too.

Hmm, I guess that'd be needed either way ... if the posts had photobucket URLs, they would now need either facebook URLs or PriusChat local uploads.

Recently, Edit on an old post seems disabled after so many hours, but it wasn't always. I wonder if the mods could grant an exception to Bill for the purpose of fixing URLs. If I remember right, the edit-disable feature got turned on after some disgruntled PC member went off in a huff and edited all his old content on the way out the door, but Bill the E doesn't strike me as the type.

Fast and cheap would be just one new post in this thread with all the past photos uploaded to it (unless there's some limit on number of uploads per post?). Editing URLs in past posts to refer to them could wait for a rainier day.

I recently needed one photo in a post changed. I was able to PM a mod with the corrected photo and he corrected it. Correcting this 47 page thread would be a nightmare though.

For sure ... but I don't see how it'd be any more or less of a nightmare with the photos uploaded to Facebook or uploaded to the next post in this thread.
