Hello! Just introducing myself to this community. I've been following this site for about month and a half, when I was deciding to buy or not a Prius. After reading in this forum I was convinced the Gen4 is a great car, so a month a go I finally purchased my blizzard pearl white 2017 Prius... and I am not disappointed at all!

I bought the "Premium" version; in Mexico there are only 2 versions available: Basic and Premium. The Premium is a mix between Trim 3 and 4: It has HUD, no sunroof, cruise control, but no LDA or DRCC, it comes with an Entune display with GPS navigation, but no Entune Apps Suite (it seems to be the same hardware with a software restriction), Softex interior (bi-tone), steering wheel with leather, no fog lights and 15" aluminum rim wheels.

My previous car was a Mitsubishi Lancer. I used to think the Lancer had a good MPG performance, but this Prius beats everything! According to the computer, I've gotten up to 30 km/L (about 70 MPG), but I still got to full up the tank for the second time to get a "real world" number.

Also, I used Carista and a bluetooth OBD-II adapter to get rid of the annoying reverse beep and enabled the remote to have all windows open when keeping the unlock button pressed.

This site has been great to get good information and insights from other Prius drivers! Hope to contribute soon here!

    Welcome!
Yes indeed!...we were just in Mexico City last month and saw more Gen4 than here in Virginia.
Now then, we were in California last week and you cannot top them, but who can? Maybe Tokyo.

The Prius Prime is not yet available in Mexico.
About the Gen4 in Mexico City, indeed you see a lot of them because in this city cars are subject to annual inspections, and may be restricted to circulate once a week or more if the exhaust check does not comply with the government standards. And even if you car passed the annual inspection, when the pollution levels gets high you could be forced to leave your car at home one day. Hybrid cars are exempt of those restrictions, thus making the Prius a popular choice when you can afford one.

    ...interesting!
This shows if you are really trying to clean the air re: local smog, it's hard to beat the Prius.

Hi Tracy, whatcha doing in Oakland? Your avatar says northern Virginia.

I'm all for Prius in Mexico. Replace those huge noisy pollution spewing trucks with a new way.
