That was me probably. I'm usually there at the Greentree exit/fort Pitt tunnel after work. I haven't seen another in Pittsburgh besides mine.

That's cool to see. I grew up in Plum. :) Surprised there aren't more Primes there!

Cool. I think there would be more in the area but dealers aren't or can't stock them so you have to order and wait. We are up to 10 weeks now but dealer says it should arrive very soon.

NOT NECESSARILY!!! That's the SAME dealership / the same PHOTO that lured us - AFTER making a phone call to CONFIRM its being there - to drive the 95-ish miles to look at it. It was NOT on their lot as expected / implied! SO... call the dealership DURING BUSINESS HOURS first to make sure!

NOTE: We called AFTER business hours, but THOUGHT we were talking to "after-hour" / on-site (specific dealership) staff... AND that person told us it was on the lot! ALSO... note the part in the ad that says: SOLD FOR DISPLAY AND ORDER PURPOSES....

It's "only" been about 6 weeks so far for us... we ordered ours on the 1st of May. The last I heard from the sales rep, on the 31st, was:

"I finally heard word about your Prius and they are going to assign it to our allocation mid June. The allocation is [nothing more than] how they assign vehicles to our dealership. It should be somewhere in that [time frame] as far as being built."

So MAYBE we'll have it by early-to-mid-August??? I sure hope so... I'm starting a lengthy road trip (1800-2000 miles) on the 17th.

Mr. Gloin, sounds like you're going to be getting very close to September, the normal time for release of next year's model. I'd either hunt down a car as close to you or a family member/friend's house, or wait for the 2018 cars. It's truly unfortunate how the very slow release of this sensational car is affecting those buyers in the Midwest.
I wish you good luck in your endeavor and can only add that it IS TRULY worth the hassle!

Hey Midwest Prime Hunters: found this interesting, if frustrating article regarding attempted purchases of Primes in the Midwest.
Toyota Prius Prime buyers misled by dealers; more education needed
    Good luck!

Yeah, I saw that, and wondered what that meant. I decided not to get a prime yet, my '14 is too new and I owe too much - unless I win the lottery. I'm waiting for Toyota's full BEV in a few years... (???). I have no interest in buying from that dealer anyway.

I work at North Hills Toyota, and commute from Homestead. Have only seen a silver, gray, and red Prime. I have a Gen.IV, but hope to move to a Prime Premium. No word yet on when Prime's will arrive where I work yet.

This Thurs. (6-15-17) will be my 3 month anniversary with my Prime. Just under 2900 miles on it. Still learning a lot about the car but it has been nothing but a pleasure to drive. Still on the outlook for one in the wild. It will happen when I least expect it. That is usually how these things go.

You know, I think I am looking at this wrong. In 2005, when I got my first Prius, I felt special that it was rare to see another one on the road. Then when they were everywhere it kind of lost that special feeling. I have that feeling back with the Prime. I am going to enjoy not seeing another one on the road for as long as I can.

I agree! I see a fair number of Teslas on the road - but no other Prime yet. Our EV group was asked to participate in a car show this weekend as part of a popular local festival. I'm going and really curious how many people will know what it is.

    Oh, a beige Prius? Yawn.

Teslas. Can't go 5 minutes around here without seeing one or more. Recently, been seeing quite a few fully loaded Model X's too. But not one Prime yet - in the wild.

I've seen as many as FIVE Teslas (at the same time) charging up at a seven-spot / Tesla-specific charging "lot" only a few miles from here (at the I-65 / SR26 interchange), but I still haven't seen a single Prime "in the wild" in this mid-west-ish locale....

Jeez, I had no idea that inventory is so constrained (nonexistent, sometimes) in vast swaths of the country until I started going through these threads. Here I thought that 150 Primes on dealer lots within 75 miles of me constituted a limited selection. Having to wait more than eight months for your car is bananas. I commend you for being able to withstand it, but my condolences that it's coming to that! However, we on the East Coast welcome with open arms anyone who runs out of patience and decides to come buy our cheaper inventory up (I can say freely, now that I've got one ;))

i am experiencing a frustrating time trying to complete an out-of-state purchase for a prime... sales manager told me that it had "just come in" and was "sitting on the flatbed" after a dealer trade... put my money down, went to make arrangements to pick it up last weekend... then was told that it would not arrive until monday or tuesday... today they told me it "should" be there tomorrow...

am seriously considering asking for my money back... and restarting my car-shopping...

any input? be patient & hold out for this prime? or get my hold money back and keep looking?

my friends & family are telling me that they should ship the car here... so far all they have offered was a discounted rate ($5oo)...
