Cut Rear View Mirror Wire, Now PS Light and No Power Steering

    I cut the rear view mirror wires with the car on, and it sparked. Instantly the PS light came on and no power steering. STUPID, I know....

    check the fuse i guess, why did you do that?

    Bentley Manual says there is a 7.5 amp fuse labelled ECU-IG in the driverside junction box that powers the Automatic glare resistant electro-chromatic mirror. Box should be near your left knee when sitting in seat.

    That was it! That fuse was blown and I replaced it and all is normal THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

    How much was the fuse? I have the same thing happen to me and yes I’m stupid I know

    Were all your dash lights going crazy?

    Those are very generally available at any automotive store and shouldn't be more than a few bucks.

    Yep never ever cut a wire with the vehicle running...even in a hybrid. In fact, disconnect the negative battery terminal, first.
