Entune app suite won't update

i don't recall the details since it is 5-6 weeks ago, but within the first week of owning the Prime I got the mandatory update message when turning the car on first thing in the morning, I clicked on update but do not recall the next screen(s), I certainly did not get a "update completed", so I ignored it and headed into work. ~30 min not the commute I saw a "update completed and re-start" (or something like that) Entune apps and, while driving, the apps updated ... I found that a little odd, but hey ... it seems that the apps were downloaded to my phone and then downloaded to the car via Bluetooth connection, which would explain why it too that long ... maybe you need to drive for that long, or leave the car on and phone connected ...

 

Mine failed the first couple of times even as I sat next to my house's wifi. So then I went on a 20 minute drive and it updated halfway during it. I didn't let it do it in the background if I remember correctly (which I did try while sitting next to the house with the failure. It basically stuck at 2%).

 

This update process of the Entune stuff in the car is using the Internet service of your phone, be it WiFi or your cellular provider's service (depending on how you have set up data on the phone), so it cannot be better than the Internet service on your phone. With a flacky Entune app on the phone, it could be worse.

Don't let your phone go into sleep mode when doing the update. On an iPhone that seems to cause the update to hang.
