Brake noise tick driving me crazy. Does your's do it?

I can clearly hear what you're talking about on the video, so I went out and tried mine.

Mine does NOT make that sound, at all.

 

Back in time.. My 05 Prius was making the famous "bark" sound when pressing the break hard. Took the car to the dealer and could not resolve the noise. End up "use as is". I Was upset and complained to Toyota at Torrence but still not solution. I can't stand the noise so ended up selling the car after newer model out.

It's painful...

We did. They just said Toyota has no recall and its not a safety issue. It's just BS.

Luckily, now I have no issue in my 2 newer Prius...

Interesting, but that minor little tick wouldn't bother me. With the radio playing, and the usual amount of traffic noise I probably would never even hear it. Sure seem to be a lot of "issues" popping up with the new Prime. I am enjoying my "regular" Prius very much. Not one complaint, gripe, or issue has come up. Even if they do, I can overlook them because I am getting fantastic gas mileage of over 60 mpg.

 

At least one other person on here has complained about the same issue

I turned my (admittedly cheapo) speakers up full, ditto for the youtube volume, sat right up, doing my interpretation of "his master's voice":



But could not hear it. Straining, I may be hearing something, but hard to tell: could be creaking upholstery. Not saying it's bunk, just giving you feedback. I do have old-dog ears.

Turn your audio levels up somehow?

My wife says she can hear it: little tiny click sounds?

Alright @Cfrea , I made a video of mine operating normally. No clicks. Will it help your case if I provided it to you?

 

I heard a few ticks that sounded like yours but they were very faint... I had my head down below the steering wheel. This was in our garage with the door closed. No radio or A/C on. Had I not been specifically looking for that sound I would never have known it existed.

 

Touch wood! I haven't noticed that sound on mine. I do notice that in EV mode this car is so much quieter than my old one. When the engine does kick on, it's a different experience. Doesn't seem as busy as the old one.

Back on topic, I hope I never hear that ticking though...It would drive me bonkers, as I hate any kind of recurring sound in a car. Like sometimes the seat belt buckle would knock against the door on my old car.

 

I just starting noticing a similar ticking noise on my drive today. What's different for me is the ticking first sounds when braking then another one or two as I reach a complete stop. No continuous tick whiles stopped. Then I hear another one as I release the pedal and onto pressing the gas. It was quite annoying! I'll test drive it again tomorrow to see if it still happens. It may just happen while on ICE though.

 

I can also confirm this noise when simply turning on the car and pressing the brake. So annoying! Is there a reason for this? Has anyone had the dealer check it out?

 

Mine does not have the click sound , but the pumping noise really bothers me. I hear it even with the radio on.
