Hi guys, I just wanted to introduce myself and showing off my Prime. Got my Prime earlier this year and I took me 4 month to get it to the way it is now. Pretty much all the parts needs to be special ordered and ship directly from Japan. I have to be really careful on what to purchase. No one knows if the parts fit or not so I have to do a lot of homework to minimize my risk. If you guys have any question about the mods, I will do my best to help. Tim
If you have financial ability and will like Tim, you can upgrade Prius Prime with PRIUS PHV | TRD and/or PRIUS PHV プリウスPHV カスタマイズラインナップ | トヨタモデリスタ
Nice Prime! Hope to see you around. Looks like you've taken the pictures by the parking structure at the Cerritos town center. What size rims?
Thanks! Yes that is where I usually take pic of my car and you will see me driving around in Cerritos. They are 18" x 7.5".
My MPG dropped about 4 mpg after the new wheels and tires. I am now getting about 54~55 mpg if I don't plug in at all. The proper size for the speedo to be more accurate I should have use 225/45/18 and the tires are lot cheaper too... However TRD is using 215/40/18 in Japan for the Prius PHV and I think it will at least help my mpg a little so I went with skinnier tires. TEIN suspension is very comfortable for everyday commute. Dampers are adjustable with 30 level of adjustment. I tried different settings several times and now I have 10 front and 5 rear. (0 for hard and 30 for soft) it's very comfortable and the Prius can corner better and feel much safer.
I have a set of RS-R springs for Prius PHV coming in for now and waiting for Cusco to release their coilover for Prius PHV
