Does anyone want to hazard a guess as to what MSRP might be for the Prius Prime Advanced here in Canada if and when it finally arrives?

My guess which is starting to look optimistic given the state of the CAD:

    Base: $29,990
    Technology: $36,990

^ I agree with the above numbers. I thought they may start the base near $31,000 or $32,000 but it's just as reasonable to expect just under $30,000 as a psychological number.

Canadian price is always much much higher than here. I remember back in 2007, a corolla in Toronto is ~CAD$18,000 which Californians enjoyed a USD$13,000 price tag. It has nothing to do with CAD vs. USD. I remember in 2007, the two currencies were almost the same.

So that Prime Advanced would have all the features of the Prius Technology with the Advanced Package? Oh minus the sunroof and the fifth seat of course.

Right now the best price I have on that car with taxes out the door is $37,878.96. If I were to wait for the Prime and if the MSRP was $36,990 after all taxes and extras they tack on and minus the same price reduction they are offering me for the Prius hybrid my price out the door would be $42,664.28. Take off a possible $7,400. from the Ont. government and the Prime ends up being $35,264.28 - A difference in my favour if I bought the Prime of $2,614.68.

Plus 10-speaker JBL GreenEdge audio (JBL isn't available on the regular Prius), remote pre-heat/pre-cool (via key fob), LED foglights, LED clearance lights, heated steering wheel. There'll be a few more features if Entune is available on the Prime Technology.

Saw my first Prime today in the wild on the 401 and Allen Expressway. Pretty cool looking car . The wedge shaped hatch was unmistakable as i approached from the rear . My only thought was it better not have Ontario plates. Virginia plates.

I was hoping you were going to say it had Quebec plates at least. I really want this thing to come to Canada even it if does only go to Quebec for this year.

Right!!! The one thing I would miss if I purchased the Prime is the sunroof. Is it only North America that doesn't get the sunroof or is there no sunroof on any Prime in other countries?

A moonroof is not available on the Prime anywhere in the world. A solar panel roof is available in lieu of a moonroof in Japan and Europe for the purposes of charging the hybrid battery (a true emissions-free vehicle).

Any idea why they don't offer the solar panel roof here in North America?

Something about rollover crash safety and the glass that they use for this solar panel won't pass US rollover standards.
