I was at a stop light and, of course, person behind me rolled forwards into my rear end. Definitely wasn't happy. I pulled to the side and look the rear over...not a mark, scratch, etc....nothing! We thought went our ways and I told them to be careful next time. I noticed our little Prius c also have steel bumpers under neath, no foam like other cars.
we have foam as well. federal regulations require bumpers to withstand collisions under 5 mph with little to no deformation. i forget the exact wording. good for you letting him/her go .
you're fortunate the other car had a bumper the same height as yours. an escalade put a dent in my hatch door.
When did that come back? I though Reagan abolished the 5 mph requirement, rolling it back to 2.5 mph.
It was a chevy Malibu. I was surprised, too, because it had that pointed nose grill that many chevys have.
