Remote Climate - Entune App

    Any update to the Entune App ? Has anyone had it work consistently on the Advanced model - i am being told by my dealer that a fix is still not in place. Very frustrating

    It almost always turns on the climate control in the car but I sometimes do not get a confirmation on the phone. I get to the car and the heat is on but the phone is still spinning as if it is still sending the instruction to turn on the climate.

    I found that to be true on my Android Phone so I click on the back button which clears the spinning and shows the actual climate working with the time remaining.

    Yeah, me too. Exactly like the and sometimes comes right but it's working good.

    Hi Rmorris,
    Just searched Entune on PriusChat to find your older post here. I have a Prime Advanced which has developed an Entune problem: the inability to respond to my requests to check charge status or operate Remote Climate. The automatic reporting of the charge status still works, but the system doesn't respond to my manual request for charge status or Remote Climate.
    Toyota Corporate Tech Support are "working on this". I wonder how many of you Advanced owners have had this problem. It worked at one time and I uninstalled/reinstalled the App several times to try to get it to work. I'm now at Level 2 support with Toyota Corporate.
    HEY!!!! I just checked the Entune App for my charge status and it works GREAT!!
    The folks at Entune must've fixed it!

    Mr. Morris, I suggest you do what I did contact Toyota Corporate, and indicate to them that Entune is not functioning properly with a detailed description of your problem. It took them two days but they finally fixed mine. It works great now. I used to have to wait about 2 minutes for the car to respond; it now takes about 20 seconds. Both features work, but remember, you must leave your car locked for Entune to be able to trigger the Remote Climate app.

    I believe I called (800) 331-4331, which is Toyota Corporate Customer Relations number. You then have to select the appropriate extension for the Entune application. The woman who helped me, Devey, did not know what the technicians did, and I never did find out how they fixed it. It's still working; I check it 2 or 3 times each day. Good luck, my friend !

    Called the same number earlier this week but had no luck. I was told to find a local dealer to take a look at this issue. What did you ask for?

    I selected the Entune app extension from the choices given. It took several steps, and I finally reached the person who was basically a customer relations person. I told her my problem, and she said that she would have the technical support people take care of it for me; it took at least two days. Ask for Devey if you're getting the runaround. Remember, I'm on the West Coast and I believe her office closes at 5:00pm, PST. I believe she's in Torrance, California, at the current Main Headquarters.

    Hey CoolMoon, are you on the East Coast like RMorris? RMorris seems to have the same problem you have with Entune and I'm wondering if the problem that you folks are experiencing is related to your location which may be having server access problems. I'm on the West Coast and mine has been fixed. This is obviously just a hypothesis since no one at Toyota has given me an explanation as to how they fixed the problem, whatever it was.

    I was having trouble getting Climate Entune app to work. Then learned that the Prime must be locked before it will work. Now it works just fine.

    YOU MUST LOCK YOUR CAR FOR ENTUNE REMOTE CLIMATE TO WORK!!
    I should have checked back and added that additional information.

    Yes, I discovered that as well. The app explicitly pointed that out.

    Then it occurred to me: Shouldn't they have a "remote lock" feature?!

    You'd thing so, but I think Entune is on it's way out. Looks like Toyota is going for Automotive Grade Linux (AGL) for infotainment starting in 2018 MY.

    I've discovered that the process of plugging in sometimes distracts me from locking the car. Plugging in is a break from the habits we've gotten used to in previous cars.

    I need to reinforce the habit of hitting the lock button immediately after I close the driver's door, and postponed thinking about plugging in.
