If you use the ECU from the 2007 in a 2005 Prius you would get the higher current limits as they are set in the firmware, but there is a risk of minor compatibility issues between the battery ECU and the other ECUs as changes were made in the 2006 model year (there are distinctly two different Maintenance manuals. One for the 2004/2005 and the other for the 2006/2009 Prii).

You will have to charge the modules to see if they are still usable. If they do not hold a charge above 7.8 volts and stay below 7 volts, they have a shorted cell and are not recoverable. A good module will charge to slightly over 8 volts, then drop back to just below 8 volts overnight. It will then hold its charge for months with only a very slow self discharge rate.

You also need to test each module's ability to source high currents without a significant voltage drop. Any modules that show a larger voltage drop under load than the others should be discarded.

I ended up just changing 1 module for $36.47, put 1 & 28 in the middle and so on, there are 2 weaker ones
put them at the end with the new one. Am good to go until another 1 goes out.

We have bought and received the ProlongPro Hybrid Battery Reconditioning System.

Before making the purchase, we watched the ProlongPro introductory video on youtube and understand that the system offers in-car and out-of-car hybrid battery repair and reconditioning.

The video from 0:35 - 0:50 says that the system “Allow you to perform in-car hybrid battery reconditioning and out-of-car hybrid battery repair and reconditioning”
What we want is to give a loaner battery to the customer for a day or two and perform out-of-car hybrid battery repair and reconditioning for the faulty battery in the workshop.
Kindly advise if the ProlongPro system allows to perform out-of-car hybrid battery repair & reconditioning as mentioned in the video if not what does it mean by "out-of-car" in the video.
