Anyone know what kit I would need to change dealer customisable options myself, such as turning on the option to open and close all 4 windows using the remote?

I would prefer to be able to change these myself rather than having to ask the dealer, if the kit to do it is reasonably cheap.

Or is there no special kit needed, just access to hidden menus using the right key sequences?

    Thanks In advance.

that sounds great, I'll give that a try ... both my kids have older 10+ years Toyotas, an OBD2 might come in handy :0 ... now having to go and find the ODB2 port in the Prime ...

A no'gooder would first have to get into your car, and plug the bluetooth OBD plug in before they could do any harm.

Carista does not list the Prime or Euro 2017 Plugin as supported vehicles. Any recommendations or experience with OBD2 software on this car?

    Wait a second ...

You mean to tell me that the owner of a brand new Prime does not have the ability to customize any settings (such as when the interior lights come on or go off, or when warning buzzers come on and go off). The choices to change the settings are (only) : 1. take it to the dealer, or 2. put yourself in the hands of some hacking subscription service ???. The settings often have a mind of their own and can spuriously reset themselves, especially when the battery is disconnected. It happens all the time. What are people paying to have the dealer make alterations to those settings?

I have a 3 year old Subaru, and I can make changes to almost any setting that exists.

Toyota needs to rethink this one ... it is entirely unacceptable to be unable to adjust the setting without resorting to outside help. Often one needs to try several different settings of each option, to determine what works best ... it could take weeks or months to get it right. I can understand that not everyone wants this capability ... let those who want the dealer to do it for them go that route. But there are a lot of owners are quite prepared to do it themselves.

Section 9-2 of the manual lists the customizable features. It goes on for pages and lists the feature, give the pages of the manual where it is explained, the default setting, and whether it can be changed from the Multi Function Display, the Nav system, or the dealer. In my manual, it starts on Page 732.

Look up Optimus Prime's Prius Prime videos. YouTube channel name is Cloud9 Life. It includes several example of settings you can customize.

    One example:

Ok could we get back on topic and can anyone help with my question? Thanks!!
Ok. Forgive me if I seem impatient but I would not like to spend any more time having my discussion hijacked by what is IMHO a lengthy anti Toyota and off topic post by someone whose profile doesn't say they own a Toyota and who says she owns a Subaru, and that Subaru says are better. She is entitled to her opinion but it doesn't help this particular discussion.

Could anyone help me by answering my query about OBD2 software that will work with this car and allow setting of customisation options.

    well i thought
respond to your question, there is a thing that plugs in to your car about $35-99 and an iPhone app that you can go in an do the something the dealer can do. change items that Toyota has set as internal options

Thanks. Yes the OBD2 hardware is easily available.

I need to hear from people who have used one of these on the Prime, what specific *software* will work with properly with one of these hardware gadgets to customize options on the Prime.

It needs to work on an Android phone too preferably.

Update: Carista HW and SW (iOS) work perfectly. Was able to change the reverse beep and a few other settings no problem. It takes a few min for the app to read the various settings but after that, you'll be done quickly. The HW comes with a 1 month free trial of the app, activated that thru an in-app purchase so just need to remember to cancel that. There are a lot of settings, more than described in the manual but post #3 in the link below has all the screenshots.
Now looking for apps that allow monitoring while driving, ODB2 Fusion claims it works with the Carista HW so need to do some more research as its $9.99 (I'm cheap ...), the free ones don't seem to connect to the Carista
