Hi all! I found a 2014 bright yellow Prius c Three not III as only 2010 Prius liftbacks used uppercase roman numerals for model designation online in my area. I haven't seen her in person, but I'm pretty sure I'm in love with this little Tweetie bird! <3  <3

I'm nervous, however... First thing is that my husband and I are musicians and also need a bit of cargo room (which I know is an issue in the C). We won't EVER need the back seats to be up while carrying our gear, though, so there's that. Our last vehicle was a BIG Mercury Mountaineer, but we never filled her up, so we don't need THAT much room. Still though. I wish we could take all of our gear and shove it all in there at the dealership!!!

I've also never bought a car from a dealership before. And my heart is super set on this ONE car. Which I KNOW is not good for negotiations (and not good for heartache if the car isn't a good fit). =/

We are (hopefully) going to the dealership tomorrow. We have 10% for the down payment, but we have terrible credit, so I'm really really REALLY hoping this will all work out!

Thoughts and prayers are much appreciated! <3 :) <3

Back in 2009, my dealership let me take a Prius home and Load it up. Perhaps your dealership will be as wise. (See photo I had a lot of stuff)

Oh man... that would be fantastic! Maybe I should call the dealership ahead of time and ask if we can take it home as part of the test drive!

one thing that i can assure you is that a dealership will always find a reason to sell you a car (y)

edit: what that means is that it will never hurt you to set the terms

Getting rid of my 2015 silverado and going v to the C was the best desicion I ever made. One trip to the store, put the seats down and loaded in a 4 burner grill, propane tank, car seat and 3 bags of groceries, on another day I fit a snowblower in the box in it, yard stuff fit to. I put a large lawn roller and seed spreader in it, and recently just bought a lawnmower from home depot and I still had room. My friends are amazed at what I can fit. And at over 50 mpg I go e erywhere I want and then some. Good luck on your purchase

Yes, The C is a very loud car, especially on rough roads. I spent weeks and a ton of money to insulate the car and the little bird is now 180lbs heavier and no more fuel-efficient tires, but the ride is bearable.

Take one on a long test drive and go on the freeway at 65-70mph before you buy one.

Sorry Missy but you won't like what I am about to say.

If your credit is THAT bad, you will be PAYING THROUGH THE NOSE with a very high interest rate loan.

ALL hybrids carry a price premium if they are in good condition.
You NEED to be looking for something without that extra cost involved.
    And that is the TRUTH.

P.S. It is a small car. It runs, rides and sounds like a SMALL CAR.
We have two in our family and nobody complains about the noise.

    Where are you located ?
Tell the dealer you don't like the color that it attracts cops. Those colors are hard to sell. Also low-ball him that way you know how low he can go. When he gives you a price tell him 4000 lower because he will be adding those 4000 in intrests back.
If you can finance it threw some other place for lower Intrests do it. When your about to close the deal say your going to Honda to check out the fit because they say it uses low fuel. Always when your about to get a good deal walk out until the. Out the door price is good for you. Never worry about your monthly price. Always worry about your out the door price.
If they don't lower to what you want don't buy it. Trust me yellow Prius c don't sell fast.

Thank you everyone. My beautiful yellow baby sold the night I posted this. :( We went to another dealership to try to get another 2014 (grey), but our credit turned out to be worse than we thought and they wanted a HUGE down payment and a cosigner. Plus, we got a bad feeling from the place. So, instead, we just bought an older (2005) black Prius (not a C) outright. It's definitely not as new as the other one, by a long shot, and while it has a lot of features (and leather seats), it doesn't have a backup camera. Which is super upsetting, but the ride is VERY smooth. And the battery was just replaced, so it has a year warantee on the battery. Our plan is to drive it for a year or so, build our credit back up, re-sell the 2005, and buy a newer one.

I can easily fit a 4x12 cab, head, and three guitars in my 2015 Prius Four. You shouldn't have too much of a problem with storage unless your partner is a drummer with a Neil Peart sized kit.

People camp and sleep IN their Prius! I'm positive you will be able to configure your equipment. I had a 1994 geo metro 3 cylinder hatchback and loaded a full drum kit no problem, so the larger Prius will be a breeze.

Enjoy your new car and congrats!

Hope that works out for you.
And I hope that it was the HYBRID battery that was replaced........and not just the 12 V one, which is only worth about $150.

Yeah. It specified that it was the hybrid battery that was replaced. Haha. But now I'm doubting myself .... But I'm almost completely certain. Ha!

If you would have messaged sooner. I could have helped you and your husband if you lived in southern California. Also helped asking specific questions about the car. And you should never fall in love with a car that's when they milk all your money away. Well you got your car congrats.

    Good Luck.
Hey maybe in a year? You'll have fallen so in love with this "temporary" compromise Prius that you wont even want to get a new one?
    But in the meantime?
Hope it works out for you.

I hauled my two bucket seats from my Jeep home in it after I had them reupholstered. It may not be huge but it's workable space for cargo
