On of our accords ('86?) had pop-up headlights. Sealed-beam (glass I think) to boot.

Those pop-up lights are on the '86-89 Accords and Integras (one of each in my household). While I like the glass for its non-fogging property, the old standardized (required by law for decades) sealed beams had awful beam patterns. The only choices were round vs. rectangular, and single vs. dual, and the rectangular single version had the worst pattern of the bunch.

If it weren't for my wife never having an accident in her 10 years of prior driving I would not have approved of her buying new with $16k of debt... My condolences.

How about a Prius C? I never though I'd say this...but I really love the way our Prius C drives. It is a fun little car! (y)

BTW - Daughter took out the C's drivers side mirror in a parking ramp recently. Just replaced it with a new unit. No big whoop. A bumper is another story but from the pic it doesn't look *that* bad.

And I saw the $7000 estimate. Surprising. Use your insurance...that's what it's for.

Poor CaliforniaPrius' wife. Over four and a half years later and this thread belittling her driving skills is revived!

And we never did hear what happened. Very possibly she was parked and someone hit her.
