Ok call this a weird idea from outside the US but I don't like this "pulled the trigger" expression. Maybe it's used so often in the States that the association with guns and shooting is forgotten, but to me this is a violent expression OR one that makes violence and gun use seem normal and everyday, which to me is a bad thing. End of sermon . . . Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Yeah. Had to have them, and after some discussion, we decided they'd make a fine snow tire rim. No and yes. I like to hang onto things; you can never have enough rims, lol. Occasional table base? I've never thought of it that way, but yeah, you are right. How about "took the plunge": an old dependable that really sums up the feel, I think.
"Pull the trigger" means to commit to a course of action. There are not many better analogies if you mean that you're making an irreversible commitment because you can't put the bullet back in the gun. But I'm dying to know, @Mendel Leisk, what did you plunge into?
Just don't hang into too many things. I travel to see my folks next week and my father has a similar philosophy, only he takes it to the next level. He still has the rims from my 1990 Jeep Cherokee sitting in the upper shed.
Many thanks to @ilovegirls , rims have arrived, safe-and-sound! Good deal, and really appreciate that you absorbed a fair bit of the shipping cost! Very minor road rash, I will touch up with Toyota Classic Silver Metallic (1F7), then wash and wax.
Was it all that you imagined them to be? I didn't know Vancouver was that close to the WA border. You could've came to the states and saved a little shipping
Oops. I would imagine I would see a decrease in my gas mileage driving up with the wheels in my Prius. Then again I could probably fit it in my Sienna. Maybe I'll offer to bring other items up next time!
All cleaned up, curb rash filled and touch-up painted, place of honour in our beat-up family room. A lazy susan came in real handy. Let the paint cure a few days, then wax them. They're 18.6 lbs apiece btw.
They'll make great table stands. These have overtaken the dogs space.....he's not liking them SM-N900P ?
He was giving FedEx royal hell, had to pen him up in laundry room. He's always "defending" us. The way I got "approval", was that these rims are intended as an upgrade for our snow tire situation. To replace the black steelies, when the snows tires wear low. Till then, yeah, coffee table stands? But, I HAD to have them.
Wife's dept. I'm the keyboard guy. She's sitting overheating, somewhere around Hanna as we speak lol.
