I think what the dealer did was just open the fuel l tank and closed again. The service advisor told me this is way too early. I was there at 6:30 am they fixed in 10 minute.

The dealer did the reset . They blame the gas cap. I don't think it was that. If that thing hit my windshield. It would have been a hell of ride. I am always looking for thing flying off . This one hit me out of no where. Scary this is why I was looking at the Rav4 . I have a jeep Wranglers too.

I closed the cap my self last Saturday. I still have halft tank I do 90 miles a day. I think the hit happen at 6:30 am found the comment in the dash around 10 pm it took 12 hours for the comment to pop up plus the check Engine light on. Once I took the piece out . The grille comments got deleted by it self. The check Engine Light dealer reset this morning.

Did you find anything stuck in the shutters?
The person that had the block heater cord blocking the shutters later had a car fire that points toward the block heater cord. If you have the cord blocking, get it replaced even if it looks OK. There could be inside damage.

Or just inspect it and check it's resistance, should be around 36 ohms between the two flat prongs.

Will do found nothing blocking it. I don't recall anything flying in at the grill. Good thing I live close to the dealer. They will handle in am.

I suspect some strands of the cable got damaged and it heated up due to the current draw of the heater. A low current ohmmeter will not find that issue.

Upon further inspection I found a little teeny piece of plastic lodged in the shutters that must have been road to breathe because nothing looked like it was broken looks like it return to normal operation but the check engine light is on good thing I'm heading to the dealer tomorrow for my first service thanks

I got the grill shutter failure message. Took to to the dealer. Not covered under warranty because there was debris in the tray behind and below the shutter. Not that it wasn't stuck in the shutter itself but they still said it wasn't covered because the debris most likely cause the failure.

So this is a warning to anyone who their Prius under warranty. If you shutter fails, you need to remove the tray below the radiator and clean out any debris that might have flown in there or your warranty won't cover it.

Bottom line is the dealer gets less if they repair it under warranty. A LOT less so it's in their interest to try and deny coverage so they can get more from you. I declined and will fix it myself. They want $800 to fix it parts and labor. They said the shutter itself needs to be replaced but it doesn't. It's fine. It's just the actuator which will cost me $250 new.
