I hope I'm not screwing up here. I didn't even know there was a moderator in these things. Is there a place where one can find out the proper procedures and how to execute them in this forum. I just want to speak my piece in a calm relaxed manner; I don't want to have to worry about everything I say and how I say it. Thanks! Newbie.

I completely understand your point of view and thank you for sharing.

Imagine, if you will, someone who is ignorant to a custom you request of that person in order to gain entry in your life. Would you seriously not take the time to explain if they ask you why? I TRULY do not know why. If the answer is "because I said so", then so be it. I, then get to choose whether I want to be a part of your life.

There was no malice intended when I wrote the words "seriously, What's the issue" it was a simple inquiry to gain more information. This was my attempt to get a question answered.

I was taught, nay, ENCOURAGED to ask questions when there was something I didn't understand. I must say that the result of this teaching has blessed me with a comfortable life and minimized my missed opportunities. I choose never to be a sheep and will always ask "why".

My apologies if I offended you in the delivery of my question. It's difficult to convey the spirit of a message on the internet.

However, unless you are a moderator or the owner of this forum, respectfully, this question was not yours to answer.

    NOW:

Tideland Prius. Thank you for taking the time to explain your reasons and I will do my best to comply.

Well I wasn't trying to answer the question I was just giving my opinion in reply to the other opinions being stated about the use of multi-quote. Which (in my opinion) had a tone that was starting to go beyond just asking out of curiosity. But as you say, detecting tone on the Internet is not always perfect. Sorry if I misread. Hopefully the OP wasn't put off by all this and still thinks we are all wonderful, thoughtful, intelligent and caring people

Yeah it's a forum not a blog (You own a blog, you don't really own the forum unless you're the admin).

PriusChat isn't as heavy-handed as other car forums (yeah I know forum is plural already) that I browse. The reason is that most members here are actually friendly, helpful and abide by the rules. This makes our job easier (we can deal with other requests like deleting duplicate posts or editing titles or moving threads to the proper place or dealing with spam).

Multi-quote isn't so much a rule as a strong preference to keep things neat and tidy. It's definitely not something we'll ban people for not doing. :)

That is a fair point and you're certainly entitled to know why :). Thanks for your understanding.

Keep on posting guys. Sorry for the hijack @FA6

    Mr. Tideland,
Since I'm using the Android phone app can you explain how I'm supposed to do this quoting thing so I don't get in trouble? On my screen at the bottom of every post there is a little return arrow for me to reply or there is a hand icon to to indicate if I like. There's also a thing that says quick answer. HELP!!

Ahh yes, I was made aware that the app does not have the multi-quote capability :(. So unfortunately, you either have to use a mobile browser, or just annoy the heck out of us  with multiple replies.

On my Android phone I tried using the app, but went back to using the browser, i.e. just opening up the priuschat.com website. I find that is true with a lot of sites that you don't get all of the features with their app compared to their website. Also I tend to be bouncing back and forth between my phone and my PC and it's easier for me to just stick with one method for a particular site that I visit frequently. However some websites just don't work well on a phone and for those I use their app.

Well, I overnighted the cashier's check today. I understand they will be able to ship by middle of next week. The trucking people are telling me about 6-7 days from the time they pick up in VT to Clear Lake area south of Houston. I think it may take a bit longer but hope they are right.

A few units have been sold around Dallas area but mine should be one of the first in Texas and definitely a rare site in South Texas:D.

At the bank I talked to the manager while waiting in line for the teller and told that interested man all about the Prius Prime. He was intrigued to hear that given the right commuting distance of within 25-30 miles or so a day, and up to 50 miles roundtrip, if one can charge at work, one may only rarely need to gas up at all. He had not heard of this new plug-in and asked me all about the Prime.

I told him mine was coming all the way from VT and that once I have it in the next 10-12 days, I will pass by the bank and let him look it over. So I am doing my part in making the goodness of the Prime spread in my area(y).

I have also told a couple of the nurses at the office about it and they were like-wise amazed by what I told them and by the relative bargain that this splendid car is.

That is the beauty of the Prime, unlike a Tesla, the Prius is very easily affordable for a large chunk of the working people.

But I am preaching to the choir and putting you good people to sleep :D.

It's affordable and it's actually a decent primary car. It can be affordable but be a 2nd or 3rd car (like the i-MIEV or smart fortwo ed but I know owners will say otherwise).

If the Model 3 comes through as advertised at $35k for a base car and has a $7,500 federal tax credit, the view of a Tesla as a car for only rich people will be out-dated.

In the meantime, I'll keep pressuring the bozos at my work-place to allow L1 charging.

Assuming that you will actually be able to GET one. It seems that Tesla owners have to wait years to get their car. Quite different from being able to walk into a dealership and drive out with a new car.

All indications point to this time around being much different. Tesla is already producing final release candidates (meaning cars off the production line), expects to manufacture 1000 cars a week from July (3+ months ahead of schedule) and they have given guidance that they expect to manufacture 5,000 cars a week by the end of 2017.

And they have PLENTY of room to expand production in the former NUMMI factory in Fremont, CA that they took over. That site is HUGE, and they had been using only one little corner of it. (I used to live a couple of miles from it.)

At its peak NUUMI produced 10,000 cars a week, which is the volume Musk targets by the end of the year. He has stated though that with line efficiencies he thinks that rate can be doubled and has tentative plans to do so by the end of 2018 if demand warrants.

Separate topic, but there was a historic rocket launch yesterday by Musk's company SpaceX. Several years ago Musk announced plans to build a reusable rocket, starting with the first stage which is the largest and most expensive part of the rocket. The more experienced space companies said it was not possible, or at least would be impractical. Just over a year ago SpaceX successfully recovered a booster for the first time, and has done so several times since then. You may have seen how this works, the booster comes back and lands on rocket power just like in the old sci-fi movies. Yesterday for the first time one of the previously recovered boosters was used to launch another satellite.

As related to this topic, Musk doesn't always deliver on time but he does seem to deliver.

It's definitely "Prime" time. This model gets more looks than the 2016 Prius. Plugging in your car is what people like. I honestly think the motoring public are finally seeing the benefits of not spending so much money on gasoline.

It is great being an ambassador for the Prime. Toyota should be giving us a kick back.
