Well the meet for the Bay Area group wrapped up today.

    Thanks to:
@Rebound for hosting and @mmmodem ,@SFO and @Pedal Logic for attending.

Myself and @Rebound got oil changes out of the way. I also got a new PCB board for the Smart Pedal to continue beta testing.@mmmodem got his trans fluid finally swapped out and @SFO got a MAF sensor and throttle body cleaning. Didn't get to everything on our lists, but we had to save some thing for the next meet :).

I know I had a great time and look forward to the next meet up ;).

I think @Pedal Logic said the next one might be at Smart Pedal headquarters(y).

I had a great time today and I really appreciate Ray for arranging it all. I had the challenging job of cleaning out my garage by 1:00pm.

I began cleaning on Wednesday night, but then I decided to do it on Thursday. On Thursday, I had to pick up some groceries, so I postponed it until Friday. And on Friday I was wiped out from a long week, so I set my alarm clock for early Saturday, slept in late, and began about 11:30. I was just finishing as Ray showed up.

Forgot to mention that while the garage door was open and @mmmodem 's and my Prii were being worked on, a neighbor of @Rebound 's stopped by. He had a Gen2 and was curious. We chatted for a bit and he brought his by and @SFO was chatting with him.

He never heard of Prius Chat, so we may have recruited another member(y)!

I wouldn't say I finally got it swapped. It got swapped. It was interesting to see all the sediment in @Rebound oil pan after we drained it. This was fantastic fun guys. Should do this again. Many thanks to @Rebound for hosting and his neighbors for putting up with us blocking their driveway for an afternoon. Thanks to @Raytheeagle for setting this up and @SFO for the WS and of course @Pedal Logic for his delightful stories of domestic life.

I learned a lot. But in general, I was just blown away by everyone's technical expertise, not just about Prius but about other topics as well. This is why I came: for the stories and to soak up the knowledge. Thank you for dumbing it down for a simpleton like me to understand.

Well, we're only experts in our respective industry. I'm a laymen when it comes to integrated circuit design. It was hard to keep up, I just nodded my head.

    Nope just sitting around waiting.

I know it's bad to say this but I am looking at my 3 hour old baby and I'm thinking... I wonder how good my engine bay looks after the cleaning? :p I did t get a chance to check. Went to sleep when I got home and woke up before dawn to go to the hospital. I think sometime this summer when @Raytheeagle needs to do his 160k OCI is good. He seems to pile on mileage pretty quickly. That's about when I need to my 130k OCI as well.

    Congratulations :)!!
Hope your wife and newborn are recovering and resting.

I have a feeling over the next 4-12 weeks you won't be piling on the miles like usual;).

But when you hit 130 k miles, stop by(y). It might give you some ideas the next time your at Harbor Freight.

Striving to be a positive influence (y)!

Just the intake manifold, of are you going to delve into the egr system? If going into the egr system, have you done the spark plugs?

I'm down to help, especially since what you have said you will supply (food and drink) meets my labor rate;).

I know @NutzAboutBolts wanted to video it, so maybe we can work a meetup with them out and get a great resource too(y). Maybe they would even host:whistle:?

Even though I showed up a good fifteen minutes late, there was still plenty of easy parking.

By this time @mmmodem and the pit crew already had his Prius (or was that his wife's?) up in the air and they were getting it ready for the WS fluid change; these guys weren't wasting any time.

Checking out and conversing over @Pedal Logic 's SmartPedal technology was awesome, the level of design detail and build quality are truly amazing. Didn't realize how much time and energy had already been extended to this product's development and testing.

Though @Raytheeagle said he only did an oil change it was a little more involved, with a proper flushing using some high-test BP EPR product for like 15 minutes (?), then after the long drain/drip he finished it off with some 5W-30 Pennzoil Pure Platinum synthetic oil and a can of BG Extended life MOA. Just can't wait for this stuff to work its magic and for Ray to report back with the latest oil consumption numbers, from what he said things are getting better all the time.

Having @Rebound as a host made it all too easy, we had plenty of space and access to all the proper equipment and tools.

Randomly meeting the neighbor was also great, he had lots of questions on maintenance and showed off some of the parts he had already ordered online. Though it wasn't until the end of our conversation that I learned he already had a mini-vci cable and the TS software.

I really appreciated all of the friendliness and the time spent with everyone, can't wait for the next meet up!!

I laughed out loud when reading this over my morning cup. Too funny. I applaud your courage for writing it too.

Enjoyed everyone at @Rebound's house. This is the first time I have seen maintenance be fun. With four hours, there was plenty of time to talk too. Everyone had specific expertise on different topics (from FPGAs to the optics on space-based telescopes) and shared in cool ways.

By the way, I appreciated the compliments on Smartpedal. It's been a long journey and I think it's finally ready for prime time. Our group was maybe the unofficial release party.

Just want to add my thank you to @Rebound for hosting and to @Raytheeagle for driving and letting me know about the event. See all of you at the next one, which may be at my house in Lafayette.

    Stayed tuned.

The next one might be at @Pedal Logic 's place (Smart Pedal HQ) in Lafayette (y).

    Maybe June?

I'm down for June. I'm thinking of bringing my 2005 Prius and doing the spark plugs. Nothing needs to be done to my 2012 since it's been sitting idle most of the time since the last meetup. 6/24 is my preference.

Good call on spark plugs and suggestion for the date :). I might be in between maintenance this round, but I'll be a set of hands for other work;).

How many miles you ( or your family member) got on the '05?

    How's the new baby doing?
