Just brought home my Red Prius Prime Premium Saturday night. I was sick of talking to dealerships in Wisconsin, and started looking on line all over the country. Found lots of them in northeast, and California. Researched locations and inventory, and found a dealer in west NY. DORSCHEL | TOYOTA | 3399 West Henrietta Road, Rochester, New York 14623. They had 9 of them on the lot in almost all flavors.
I called, and worked with a Mark Fujimura. They had a $2000 Toyota regional incentive going on (I think until April 3rd), and he took about another $350 off list, with no hassle. I left home Thursday morning, closed the deal fri, and got back sat night. I think the incentive is on until April 3rd. If you do contact him tell him Terry said he was great to work with, just want him to know he was appreciated. I guess he has been there 20 years. There are lots of other dealers in NY, MA, MD, RI etc, with lots of primes. Dorschell was the one closest to me (850mi) with a nice variety to choose from. But now they only have 8.
Also I drove out there with and traded in my 2010 Red Prius.
Be sure you talk to your bank before you go out of state about a wire transfer, you may have to sign a form at home for it to go smoothly. We set everything up ahead of time. and we were in and out of the dealer in 4hr, and when we left home we hadn't picked a color, or even knew which dealer we were buying from.

I am picking up my new PP Advanced today. Paying $30,335. Hopefully that is a pretty good deal. I got $1,500 off as a rebate plus $2,769 for Preferred Customer Discount. Turning in my 2-year BMW i3 lease this week. I like the performance of the i3 but too bumpy here in Portland (Pothole), Maine

 

wow! that may be a record. what makes for a preferred customer?

 

I have no idea. All I can think of is they priced the discount out for a Plus. I just kept my mouth shut.

 

i didn't think there was that much margin in the car, but maybe on the advanced.

 

We drove from Ohio to Fox Toyota in Auburn, NY to pick up our Prius Prime Premium Sunday, 3/19. The sticker was $30,284 with destination and car mats. We paid $27,000 after the $2,000 Toyota rebate. The only other fee was a $75 doc fee. Rob Carlson was great to work with there. He went the extra mile to help us pick the car up on Sunday when the DMV was closed.

Sounds like a 'road trip' after Ms. Bisco removes your credit cards, locks up the check book, and wraps your dominant hand in a bandage/cast.

Was this from DCH Brunswick Toyota by any chance? I'm hoping to drive out there from Ohio soon to see about a Plus for about that price.

 

is that closer than the east coast? i think the deals are better here.

Does anyone know if you buy a car out of state, do you pay that states' taxes or your home state taxes?

 

Plus for $27500 before $1500 in Toyota rebates. So, $26,000 plus tax.

 

Traveling to NJ tomorrow for a Prime Plus. MSRP $28,573 - $2,000 rebate = $26,573. Quoted internet price $25,879. That's $694 lower than MSRP. Seems like a pretty good deal. Anyone have any thoughts on whether or not I should even bother trying to talk them lower? I'm not used to not trying to haggle a little.

 

it can't hurt to try. there's probably less wiggle room on the plus i suppose. maybe another $500.?

 

Advanced: $34,800 MSRP. $30,859 out the door. $1500 manufacturer rebate, the rest dealer discount. They had to get the car from another dealer as they did not have the one I wanted. They have several other Primes, including some Advanced, just not grey. I was very pleased with the overall experience from my dealer, Ira Toyota in Danvers, ma. I had never dealt with them before and was not looking forward to the sales nonsense, but was a great experience. Picking up tonight!
