How common are false positives with TSSP, such as stopping for, or warning you to stop for, non-existent cars in front of you, or crossing non-existent lane markings? Have any of you experienced such a thing?

    It is hard to quantify:
    • dynamic cruise control has been flawless
    • Had one BRAKE alert in rush hour traffic induced by an idiot who was driving recklessly.

In the case of the reckless driver, was the danger in fact real (meaning a true positive rather than a false positive)?

That, as opposed to, say, the reckless driver driving like a maniac in a different lane...

I was following a truck at about 30 mph in dynamic cruise control, close mode. The other driver in the lane to my right pulled in front on the way to lane to my left and close enough I could not see his bumper. I consider that a brief but close call. The first time I really noticed him he'd already gotten 1/4th over the lane and the alarm came on just as he filled the space. I was already alert and the BRAKE was somewhat redundant. Fortunately, he passed through the gap and into the left lane.

    Yikes...

Yep, a true positive; not a false positive. Good to hear that it works!

Anybody see TSSP think there's danger when there actually isn't any?

On my 4th Gen using DRCC I had a false positive "BRAKE" on a curve from the yellow arrow signs.
A couple of times DRCC has used the brakes when somebody ahead in a neighboring lane braked.

How hard did it brake in that case? How big do you perceive was the risk that the guy behind you could have hit you?

Nobody behind me on the curve, but I switched to regular cruise control to not trouble my passengers.
For the cars in the other lanes, it was momentary and I usually just used the accelerator.

I was going around a curve in the left lane of a street going 50mph. There was a car stopped on the same side of the road as me. He was on the left waiting to turn left at a light and I had a green light to go straight. Right before I passed him at the stop light, the BRAKE sign came on for a quarter of a second. No auto brake, just a warning for a quarter second. No big deal.

That was the only time it hasn't worked well. It stops me before I hit the wall of my garage in my house. When I come up fast on someone from behind, it has warned me a couple times with only a warning.
