After a 3 month wait, part of it my choosing I should get my new black Prius tomorrow. Currently running with the Auris tourer but decided the extra leg room, technology and hopefully higher mpg was worth the switch although after the test drive there appeared to be a considerable difference in handling and performance between the two with the Prius on top with both. I've been getting up to 66 mpg on the Auris so it's not going to be the walk in the park it may have been with other vehicles.

    Congratulations and welcome to PriusChat.
We have quite a few Brits here. I am sure @RCO and @kithmo will be along shortly to introduce themselves.

I had a Prius Gen3 which shares the same drivetrain of the Auris.
In the Gen4 I am getting on average 20% fuel savings (or 20% better fuel consumption), compared to Gen3, not changing the driving style.
Gen4 goes into EV mode more often and at higher speeds than the Gen3.
Auris might be lighter than the Gen3, so maybe your savings in fuel might not be the same compared to the Auris.

Yes congrats and welcome Sandyman. Looks nice in black but a devil to keep clean.
You should easily get more mpg from the Prius, 66 from the Auris touring is very good in real world mpg.

Congratulations and welcome from wet and windy Cornwall. There is at least another PC member in London and others in various locations around the British Isles.

Thanks rco. Or US brethren have different climates and variations to deal with so it's always good to take "useful" averages due to location

I would normally have agreed but personally the black with the 17" alloys works very well
