Enabling those green leafs and the PED in the Nav POI system is purely for display purposes. The green leafs will show you where the car will engage extra regen force. The system will work anyway, even if you disable the visual. I turned off the leafs after a while, because they cluttered my map, but PED works just like it did.

Predictive traffic is a whole other story. It's a useless feature that tells you if an area will have traffic, based on historical data. It's almost always wrong in my experience.

PED will work once you enable it regardless if you enable the green leafs or not. However you turn off PED using the step I have outline above. Your eco score will be skewed if you have PED enabled because the SW seem a bit buggy in predicting when you should/shouldn't ease off on your accelerator pedal.

So, I have a Premium with not many miles on it yet (7 days, ~200 miles). The Navi manual pg 259 says go to menu -> settings -> navigation -> detailed navi. settings. I do not have a box 7 (Predictive Efficient Drive). Anyone else with a young premium want to report on their findings? Trying to determine if this isn't available until after you've driven around for awhile, if I don't see it because I'm in a garage (no GPS?), etc..

You're in the a different menu. If I'm not mistaken, the screenshot on the first page is found by going back to your main nav screen and pressing "Options" near the top left. That should bring up the same screen that you see on the first page.

Understood, but KyLien's second snapshot with menu bar "Map Navigation", as I understand, toggles what is displayed on the map, not whether or not PED is enabled/disabled.

Still haven't gotten out of the garage to check.. :)

Is the predictive efficient drive just a better version of the one in the gen 4? The one in my car is almost useless TBH

Perfect thank you so much? May I ask you one more thing? My map won't go black like yours...how can I do this? I have a prime advance model 2017. Thank you. This has been helpful.

I had the same issue. Go to Menu-display and uncheck Day Mode option. Boom! Your map will go dark and your Prius icon will turn on headlights on top of the screen when your actual lights are on.

Yes. You can manually turn on your headlights to check if it worked.

Huh? My only guess is that the system does rely on an input from a light sensor and won't activate the dark mode until it's actually dark outside.

same thing, afaik. if you're an experienced hyper miler, it may not help much.

I find it useful, but I am not an experienced hypermiler. This is my first Prius. It's not always accurate and doesn't seem to be terrain-aware, despite being GPS-linked. It keep telling me to decrease acceleration as I am trying to climb a steep hill. Still, most of the time it does what it should.
