EnTune App Suite Update ... ?

the day didn't start out well for me. Not only did Entune repeat it's update, ICE kicked in when I surpassed 30 MPH note to Bisco: see another post about ICE kicking in

 

Mine updated once yesterday and once today.

 

I just checked my car and there are no updates available. I wonder if you guys are getting an old update? Mine updated back in December just after I purchased my car.

 

Mine did it again today. It's not an update, it's a fresh "initial" installation of Entune. For some reason our cars delete the Entune suite on daily basis, requiring a fresh install. Not a big deal, since I rarely use the apps, but disconcerting nonetheless.

 

So....a cast of numbers....how many times total did the update show up, so far for me it's two.

After my second update strangeness happened.

I have no idea if this issue is connected to update, but it happened just afterwards.

I had an update notification ( after 2 ) that the update was complete.
So I hit the home button to clear the display, powered off the car and went and got a sandwich.

Afterwards, I powered up the car and headed home. The car went in Ev mode with 75% charge, as normal.
I noticed immediately that when I let off the accelerator the dynamic breaking when into effect big time.

Normally when in EV when you take you foot off the accelerator, you get a little regen, with a thin sliver of indication on the HSI display that some charge was happening.

Instead what I got was about a 50% regin display on the HSI and you could really feel the de-acceleration.
No problem, just meant that my foot had to stay on the accelerator, else I come to a stop relativity quick.

So a little later my foot noticed the extra effort, so I decided to use the cruise control, while driving.

When I turned on cruise control, the set switch would not work. It was never acknowledged, and I got no cruse control.
I flipped it off, business as usual.
Flipped it on, ok, but the set would not take.

Tried 4 more times, no cruise control.

Pulled over to the side, powered off the car.

Powered on, joined traffic, and all was well.
Back to normal.

I have no idea if its related to the update, but it happened once for me.

 

Could be just a coincidence. That was an Entune update, which doesn't really have anything to do with drive management. Unless Toyota is really doing something weird with our Primes.

 

Has anyone who has had this update issue contacted entune support? I have the update on my prime, but I'm waiting to see if this resolves itself before I run it...

 

The heavy ReGen and not being able to lock on Cruise is indicative of being in the "B" mode.

 

Did not notice any engine braking.

 

Agreed. Sounds like you may have accidentally slipped into the B-mode.

I drove today and tried B mode. That's what it was. How it got that way, I don't know.

Nothing happened for me as well. Perhaps it was an Entune glitch that pushed redundant updates. Hopefully it's fixed, but curious why it affected just Primes and not all Entune enabled Toyotas.
