    SIGH.
Of course you are right but...........
Large numbers of people not being able to tell the difference between fact and opinion or between truth and lies.......
can add up to some "life and death" stuff.
But that's a whole different discussion, I guess.

Thanks, me too! Battery is perfeclty fine and I do not care about it at all anymore. When it will die, I will change it, it does not look like it will happend anytime soon. Problem solved. But as you said, a lot of misinformations and horrible scenarios... I can confirm.

I agree - except it is a bit harder on a Prius to see danger signs the battery is on the brink. On a standard car you start getting the slow starter turning as a good sign you need to look at the battery. You don't get such an obvious hint with the Prius but I am certainly in the club of not replacing it until there are actual indications it is failing rather than on a time schedule.

Yes, just lets be ready to keep in head what to do, if it happens.

So, I just checked my battery. It is the original, date code shows March 31, 2011. Under load of headlights and heater blower, OBDII scanner shows 11.5V. Also noted my spare tire was flat, inflated it and found it leaking between the valve stem and rim. Probably going to go ahead and replace the battery (Optima Yellow Top from Amazon) and get the valve stem replaced this weekend.

Good idea. Our 12v on our 2011 bit the dust a few months ago. Replaced with an Optima yellow top with no problems.

    So don't get jealous but...

Bosch Premium AGM battery, 45 AH, 75 minutes reserve, 48 month warranty, 3 years free roadside assistance.

$155.60 total installed and out the door at Pep Boys. And there is a $30 rebate, which will make it $125.60! :)

Maybe I can make you jealous;).

Measured the 12v on our 2010 Prius II this morning like every Saturday morning and got 12.75 v :).

I do hook it up to a battery minder 1510 every so often to ensure the battery is desulfated.

7.5 years and still going strong(y).
