so am I crazy to feel I am feeling discomfort under my left thigh when driving the prius for a long distance, say 200+ miles? I realize the 2017 sits lower though do have power seats and play with them at times. Of course if I raise it up high then it seems I am floating above the car line, in a manner of speaking plus have to then adjust the review mirror so I can still see all of the back small view glass.

I did not connect the dots until yesterday that this may be cause by driving the prius. Don't know for certain though was told, actually by my brother, if ones knees are higher then one's waist it may cause lower back discomfort over a long driving period.

Anyway, might drive my 07 highlander hybrid for a few days and see if the discomfort lessens. Even though back then the highlanders did not have a deep seat bottom the ride was not uncomfortable. Took an advil last night though still feel a bit of discomfort right in the center behind my left leg between the knee and butt.

Feel free to advise that it is not the car causing it, would be glad to hear since it has been a nice car thus far. Don't recall this feeling in the much smaller 2016 mx5 gt I had prior. Though in that car it felt like the driver seat was just a bit left of center in relation to the steering wheel, at least to me.

I am not happy with the seat position in the US. I have to use to cruise and pull my legs back to get relief. It would be better if the bottom seat would tilt more down in the front to help with leg pressure. But not a deal breaker as I have learned to adjust.

IT is interesting that you guys with the "new, improved" seat are complaining about comfort after seat comfort was promoted as one of the new features for Gen 4 Prius. I just assumed the crappy seats in my Trim Two were a different, older design. Perhaps I was mistaken.

Gen 3 with leather were the best seats so far.

Leather or Softex? My son has a 2015 Prius v 5. I believe he has the Softex seats and thinks my 2017 Trim Two cloth seats are about the same comfort on long trips.

I had discomfort of my right thigh in my rhd Uk Gen 4 the first time I went on a longer journey, from the seat bolster, I just twisted my bottom slightly to the left and cured it. I think it may be that the steering wheel or pedal positions (or both) are slightly out of kilter with the seat position.

So, Gen 3 with leather would be 2010 or 2011.

Are you sure? I thought one reason for Softex was it was more environmentally friendly since no animals need to be killed.

Apparently in the UK, you can get leather on the Excel trim.

Apparently, some UK models still get real leather for Gen 4.

I've had problems with pain in my left leg for years; nerve pain from sciatica, IB band syndrome, and back spasms are all complicated in bad car seats. I used drive a 5 speed Civic and loved the manual transmissions. I gave it up for the gen 3 Prius, and found the higher seat position helpful. I guess the new model lowers the seat positions by about 2".

I love the seat in my new 4 touring, with the power adjustments, lumbar support, and heated softex. I tried driving the other trims with cloth seats and found them unaceptwble. Too low, small cushion, and I can see I would feel pain after a long drive. Again, the 4 touring driver seat is great for Me!

In my opinion, Toyota should not have advertised improved seats when revealing the Prius if the design was not available in all Trims. They should have said they were available on some models. It is borderline false advertising, IMHO.
