Being relatively new to the Prius what Scan Gauge parameters do you find important to monitor? I have the engine temp, state of charge of the hybrid battery, voltage of the 12V system, and mpg on my main screen.
I originally set the ICE coolant temp and it seemed to never change and was always quite cool. What is the normal operating range of the ICE coolant?
RPMs, coo!ant temp in F, intake air in F, and instant MPG (I get average MPG on the dash) RPMs at a given speed correlate to MPG, and every car prior to the Prius was a manual and I miss it. Coolant should be 195F once warmed up. Air temp in my Gen 2 made me feel it was over heated in MS in the summer, the v does not rise as far.
I use 2 scangauges: #1: RPM, battery current draw (amps), battery state of charge, friction brake sensor #2: engine coolant temp, mpg for current drive, traction battery temp 2, a/c current draw in amps
I disconnected mine about 18 months back; there's a possiblity it was causing a problem at the OBD port. But what I used: Pretty much constantly: Accumulating mpg per trip Instant mpg Coolant temp The last I would juggle between: coolant temp hybrid battery temp, at sensor #2 (with an XGauge) AC compressor wattage (Ditto) (to see when AC's running)
