Instead of starting a thread every month, I think I'll just keep adding to this one.

    Here's January

    • Total hybrid sales at 972 units (+6.7% over Jan 2016)
    • RAV4 Hybrid sales total 388 units (+20.9% over Jan 2016)
    • Prius Liftback totalled 131 units (+184.8% over Jan 2016)

c and v are down 29% selling around 80-ish units.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    February

    • Corolla sales up 36.4% for the month of February (compared to Feb 2016)
    • Prius sales up 233.3% for February and 206.1% for YTD.
    • Prius v is only down 7 units compared to Feb 2016 but is down 43 units YTD
    • Prius c is down 68.2% (to be fair, last Feb was unusually high.. probably because of car share purchases)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    May

    • CH-R has better debut month than RAV4 (690 vs. 167). Although to be fare, the RAV4 started in 1995 before SUVs were popular
    • RAV4 has all-time best month ever (5,355 units)
    • Sienna sales up 45%
    • Highlander sales up 38.9% (new May record)
    • Prius up 10% in May (Up 17% this year)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    June

Bolstered by the Canadian debut of the all-new Prius Prime, Toyota had its best hybrid sales month ever, with 2,205 units sold, up 7.5% compared to 2016.

When TCI introduced the Prius to the Canadian market in 2000, they sold 225 units across the country in the first year. Fast forward to June 2017 and hybrid technology is selling at a whole new pace, with 144 Prius Prime units sold in one province alone during its first month of sales. A hybrid technology pioneer, Toyota has sold more than 10 million hybrid vehicles globally.
    • Corolla sales of 5,617 units, up 12.5% (made in Canada!)
    • TCI truck sales of 13,755 units, up 13.5% (new June record)
    • RAV4 sales of 5,047 units, up 0.5% (new June record – made in Canada!)
    • Highlander sales of 1,562 units, up 30.7% (new June record)
    • Tacoma 4x4 sales of 1,261 units, up 11.1% (new June record)
    • RX sales of 832 units, up 21.5% (new June record – made in Canada!)
    • NX sales of 699 units, up 68.8% (new June record)

    October

Sales of the completely transformed Toyota Camry - along with record hybrid and truck sales - led Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) to another record month, with 19,671 units sold, up 8.9% compared to 2016.

The Toyota division reported sales of 17,059 units, up 9% compared to last year, and the Lexus division achieved a 16th consecutive monthly record with 2,612 units sold, up 8% compared to last year.

    Camry sales up 72%

Sleeker, sportier styling, more dynamic handling and improved fuel efficiency have made one of the best-selling cars in its segment even better. The all-new model has bolstered Camry sales by 72%, with 1,517 units sold in October alone.

    Record hybrid and truck sales

TCI reported another record month of hybrid sales with 1,799 units sold, up 26.9% compared to last year.

Led by the Canadian-made Toyota RAV4 and Lexus RX, TCI also sold a record number of trucks in October with 12,438 units sold, up 10.5% compared to 2016.

    Additional October Sales Highlights

    • Lexus truck sales of 2,004 units, up 16.2% (best month ever)
    • Lexus RX sales of 1,069 units, up 25.3% (best month ever)
    • Toyota RAV4 sales of 4,644 units, up 10.9% (new October record)
    • Toyota Sienna sales of 1,303 units, up 24.5%
    • Toyota Highlander sales of 1,266 units, up 17.1% (new October record)

In January 2017, across Canada: 131 Prius hatchback were sold? Doesn't seem like a lot. How would that compare to past January's, say 2012?

No. I think TCI only sold something like 1,200 Gen 1s.

Those PDFs aren't available any more but for Nov 11, in the article, the Prius had 280 sales (if we do subtraction)

Toyota Canada year-to-date sales up 21.1% | Toyota Canada

I know it's a different month but Jan 2013 seems to suggest around 200 units as well (including 33 PHVs).

Also, it appears March-June 2011, Prius family sales topped 1,000 units per month. This January, it's 300 units. Huge drop. (but also taxis drivers aren't buying them since they're still using their current vehicles. I'm starting to see fewer Gen 2s as they reach their serviceable life as a taxi but I've only seen 2 or 3 Gen 4s. Most are still Prius v's and Gen 3s.

Once in a while I'll see one. They're either base or Tech w/ Advanced package.

    June numbers are in.

Record monthly sales for Toyota hybrids. 144 Prius Primes sold in June in one province. They lump Prime numbers with the Prius numbers. Gonna be more work to determine how many Primes were sold moving forward.

For perspective, the best selling Toyota is the Corolla and it sold 5,617 units in June.
