    Hey guys,

I've had my 2016 3 Touring for about 4 months now. I love it. My only problem is with the music connection over Bluetooth. Specifically, anytime I start my car the music reconnects and plays in a skipping/fast forward motion. The music is incoherent & I must turn my Bluetooth off then on to remedy it. I've researched the internet for months looking for a fix with no luck. I've "forgotten" & re-connected my phone a few times and deleted my phone off the navy and re-introduced it. No luck. Thinking I need to speak to an entune specialist and take my vehicle in?

My previous 2 FORDs would lose BlueTooth connection regularly, my PRIUS sometimes too, though i never noticed it losing it after it did connect. I never used it to stream music, though.

I'm suspicious of the reliability of BlueTooth. I could be driving, it would be connected, stop briefly, phone in my pocket while I went into a shop etc, get going again and realise it hadn't re-connected automatically. Sometimes, I could click the BLUETOOTH icon on the phone OFF then ON, and it would re-connect, other times that didn't do anything, so I'd do a re-start of the phone and it would then "find" the car (which wasn't actually lost at all).

In that radio spectrum there are many possible interference sources. For example if somebody was using a microwave oven near an open window it could cause interference.

OK - but if you can't use a Mobile/Cell Phone while driving ...

I have the exact same problem with mine(16'Prius3). I do the same, disconnect my Bluetooth and reconnect and it's fine. Never had an issue with Bluetooth connectivity in my gen 2.
So, count me in for a remedy (besides the disconnect and reconnect method)

Which model has the microwave oven? Is it an option on some levels? I thought you antipodeans would prefer the barby over the microwave. Must be a sign of the times!

I had a mate who baked potatoes and heated casseroles around his air-cooled VW KOMBI - while driving.

The BT reconnect only worked that one time but would happen again the next morning. Restarting the phone however worked for a few more days. I found out later it was an iOS BT bug which was fixed in a later update. I no longer have issues.

Which iOS are you on that fixed the BT problem? I'm up to date with my updates and it still happens.

It was a long time ago with iOS 8 or 9 and on a 5s and 6+. If you are still having problems, then I guess you're having a different issue.

I'm also having this issue with my '17 Four Touring and my iPhone 6. Oddly, the iPhone 7 Plus doesn't seem to have this issue, which is frustrating as heck. I've had success with a couple of different workarounds: 1.) toggling the phone into airplane mode and then back out again, letting BT disconnect and then reconnect and 2.) switching the Source to something like XM or FM, and switching a minute or so later back to BT.

I find your solution #1) works on my Nexus when my network drops out when I'm at home in a poor coverage area.

    *UPDATE*

Took it in for maintenance, had the tech guy sit in my car as I crossed my fingers hoping the issue would show itself. And alas, it did! So the music is skipping, he has me run through all the things I've already done to try & remedy the issue with no avail. After 5 min he says "I do not know man I guess just wait for a software update."

That's it. After all this time that's Toyota's tech specialists response.

I've had to forget and reconnect my iPhone about three times now in less than a year. Never had the skipping fast forward phenomenon, but I only play audible books. It always starts up where I left off.

Same problem in my 16 tourIng. Sometimes when I connnect Bluetooth it starts skipping and stuttering. I have 4 apple devices on the menu. And when a friend gets in w a phone there's another choice. I think the car is confused. My solution is to bring the car to a complete stop, wait 3 seconds, disconnect and reconnect. All is good again. Bluetooth is finicky. But when it works it's sounds great! Even better than standard wired connections, IMHO.
