Had to be an errand boy today. I didn't have time for a full charge before I left. I had about 6 miles showing on the EV range. Drove 25 miles to son's house to pick up some stuff he forgot to take to the hospital. Then drove about 35 miles to the hospital in downtown Tampa and spent about 3 hours there. Then it was about 40 miles home from there during early rush hour. When I got to the hospital, I discovered that they had special parking for hybrids and others that get 40+ mpg. Three spots, one empty. Mine was the only hybrid there. Nice. When I got home, I'd averaged 68 mpg indicated on a mix ranging from 20 mph side streets to 65-70 mph "try-not-to-get-run-over" toll roads. I'd say 2/3 of the trip was 60 mph or faster. Somewhat better than my '05. (y)

The main thing I did was save the battery for side streets; don't run it down because it seems to build back up pretty quickly in traffic as the tailgaters brake in front of you and you let off the gas. I got home with 0.1 mile left in EV, so I wasn't quite perfect. I'd hoped to be into the battery a little deeper, but people kept stopping in front of me. LOL!

Nice! Last time I looked it had not. So it was in the last couple days, iirc. I'm down to two pips again so I'll have more data soon. This one has more non EV miles so won't be as good. Lots more trips beyond battery range. But heck, I think it'll still be over 90 mpg not counting electricity. Maybe I should just drive round and round and stay within battery range for a few hundred miles. ... NOT! :ROFLMAO::p:D

The nice thing is that almost half my commute is free. I do have a noon meeting every other week that is about 18 miles one way from work that began a couple weeks ago, so that adds to my HV miles.

You got some nice numbers on that last tank.

i like the extra miles and heat pump, but there are trade offs as well.

I'll probably get a used Prime in a few years, after someone else has paid off $20,000 depreciation like this one. :D

I agree with you. Considering I'm averaging 90mpg since I got it. If I had a Prime it would easily be double. Even not plugged in it gets better mileage then my 2011. The battery charges to 8 bars all of the time in traffic which in my 2011 only has happened twice in 5 years.

A low mileage Pip is probably one of the best kept secrets in the used car market.

I vacillated for a while between the regular Gen 3 and the PiP. But Todd's prices for both were comparable and a friend was nuts about the PiP he had just bought from Todd, so I went for it. For the Prime to be better, it must really be incredible.

I purchased a 2013 Advanced with 36k on it for 18k. The window sticker came with it $40,900. I'm very pleased with it.

'14 base with 27k for $16k . Bought my 07 Civic Hybrid in 09 with 27k for $13.3. Only $2.7k more for the PiP: grand larceny.

My base model had $33,102 on the sticker. I bought it for $12,995 with about 52,800 on the odometer. It has a few little dings, but runs great and the interior is like new.

When did you get that? I may have looked at that one. I remember seeing a while advanced for about $18K at Todd's and thinking, "If only I had the dough for that one!" :)
