Well the EE 4G car wi-fi that fits in the cigarette lighter socket is going to go back. Quite large and then means I have to put the cigarette lighter plug with fast USB ports on the back of the centre console. That might have worked, had Toyota put some indents in the console itself so I could run my charging cables underneath the armrest. I've seen that in other cars. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
In terms of Alexa skill for the car, look how ahead Ford are. This has been launched and you can get all this info from your Echo at home. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Correct. The point is now that Alexa is being integrated either into cars themselves or skills being added so you could control/check aspects of your car by voice without being near the car. Additionally, with the Ford skill I wonder if you could use the skill to start the car by voice when inside the car? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I do not know if this is available in the UK. With Logitech's ZeroTouch, You Can Now Use Amazon's Alexa In Any Vehicle | Fast Company | Business + Innovation
It is. Mine just arrived today. Will be testing tomorrow against using the Dot at the same time. I suspect they might differ in voice recognition. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I have a Gen 3 and unfortunately the Echo Dot refuses to pair with the Prius Bluetooth. The Alexa app detects the Prius bluetooth just fine, but consistently refuses to pair. From the Prius side, it's difficult for some reason to get the car to see the Dot. When the Prius does see the unit and attempts to pair the Dot, all I get is constant "Failed to pair" messages. So I'll probably just put the Dot in the car as is. It's a shame that although the Dot fits perfectly in the cup holder, the sound is too muffled to use it that way (since the speaker is on the bottom of the Echo).
