Why I'm Not Upgrading To A 2017 Prius

This is my first ever white car.

 

i had a white miata. the choices were red, white and a horrible blue, imo. after 4 or 5 years, i really wanted to paint it.

 

Interesting enough that the white color is named with the weather condition in which it will blend and be invisible to other drivers : blizzard
I do love this colour for the Prius.

Curiously, after all the previous Toyotas in Spain had been what I call 'Toyota White' (also 'taxi white' here) on brochures, the 2016 Prius is Cobalt Blue by default on brochures and the website's configurator.

Funny how different markets use different colours.

 

Oh - but I'm yet to see a red one. All the journalists got RED I-Tech models, but almost all of the few which have turned up in dealerships within driving distance of here - are WHITE BASE models.

 

We went in looking for the Blizzard Pearl, went through the "well what do you have" phase, came out with Classic Silver. Love it.

 

What if you forwarded your response to Toyota Corp? The sales manager is just a local busy body, in relation, and has to do what Corp says anyway.

Many years ago, in the UK, the AA did a survey on what was the most visible car colour and came up with yellow, hence their vans are yellow.

In England some things go without saying, the country is "understood". Then there's London: "the city".

 

Apparently. Two years ago, Toyota was doing these research surveys to their consumers and when the questions about this white toilet porcelain paneling came out (seemingly nothing to do with the rest of that particular survey's worth of questions), that's when I knew, Toyota had already made up their mind and just wanted to know if consumers would "put up with it" Thereafter I also saw a stark decrease in survey frequency.

 

Silver (not dark silver though) is easiest colour to keep "clean" of them all.

 

For us ther is another consideration too. Being isn a southern climate the clear coat finish tends to start flaking off after a few years. The darkest colors seem to look worst. My 2008 Corolla is just starting to peel and does not look too bad.

 

It seems that politics is not the only area that has to put up with inaccurate surveys...........
