I have a 2010 Prius V with factory HID headlights. When I google a replacement, I get all this aftermarket crap. Does anyone know the brand/model # for my HID headlight and if I can replace them myself. Thanks!
Just to clarify, the 2010 Prius V/five is equipped with LED headlights and not HID headlights. What happened to your headlight that requires replacement? From my own searching, the headlight doesn't have an aftermarket replacement and the only option for New is the OEM item and it's the entire headlight assembly, the LED bulbs themselves are considered non-serviceable. There are several used LED headlights that can be found on eBay. I've also found a few sellers that have actually cracked opened the LED housing and is selling parts individually like the LED bulbs, etc. I have a used LED headlight housing from a 2010 Prius V/five, in great condition except for some broken tabs. Toyota does offer fix kits to repair them which run at about $12 a tab and there are three total IIRC. Send me a PM if you are interested, I think $200 would be a reasonable price given that the entire headlight housing brand new is $600+
There's nothing wrong with my current headlights, I was trying to get a price on replacing them when they do fail, but I didn't realize they were LED. Is that true for the 2010? I know the newer Prii have LED, but I thought mine were Xenon...
Cool. Having a spare headlight in case of failure is exactly the reason why I have an extra headlight Yes. All of the generation three Prius Five (2010+) models have LED headlights. The Prius Four and below have standard halogen headlights.
$792.06 MSRP per unit, part # 81145-47330. But LED headlights are supposed to last the life of the car and you don't normally replace them.
OK, I have a 2010 Prius. The headlight lens' are all clouded. Dealer tried to restore, no help. I thought these were the hid or halogen but I guess not. I either would like a restoration process for the lens' that work or a reasonable replacement. Anybody have any ideas?
Congrats on your first post in 8 years!! I used the turtle wax kit as I had the same issue with our 2010 Prius II. The fogging had started to get to the beam front, so had to do something. Bought it on Amazon and it was $10. Took about 2 hours and involved a 4 step process. It fixed the outside but there is a haze layer on the inside that of course I did not attempt to get. The real test will be how long it lasts before I have to do it again. Been 5 months and still not too bad:
HAAA! Thanks! That's how reliable the Prius is! I think I've got that system. Or, can get it locally. The Dealership shined them up for me once but it only lasted a couple months. Thanks for the reply!
Does anyone sell just the front, clear piece of the headlamp housing so that it can be baked to remove and replace? SM-G935F ?
Update: Found that the 3M Lens cleaning system with a pneumatic 3" sander (a small hand-held one) works wonders for cleaning headlight lens'. Did the 2010 and after about 20 minutes of working on each one they turned out almost as good as new!
