Maybe the US and Japanese ones are the same design and the Mexican one is different. Tire Rack says Volkswagen for that one.

The post I linked to said the Japanese one does not have the same mileage warranty.

Probably. Look closely at sidewall with a good light; it should say.

I have been busy. As expected, my Ecopia tires are made in Japan, just like my car.
    They are rated at
    Treadwear 600
    Traction A
Temperature ?? (sorry, photo cut off)

Japan Treadwear (UTQG) of 600 is in between USA and Mex.How's tread pattern: 4 row wide spaced or 5 row tighter?

Yes, all 8 for me! However, I had a flat on the 2011, my daughter has, and the 422 PLUS MIUSA are very nice tires. Since it is on the back it should not make a difference in MPG. Back to my original premise, if you want to always have matching tires you need to buy at least one MIJ spare for the garage from Tire Rack and maybe a cheap wheel and have them mount it.

I was thinking about buying a Dunlop spare to match the four on my 2017 Four because it is my first car without a spare. In a best case scenario, I could call home and possibly get Hubby or a neighbor to deliver the new tire to wherever I had a flat. If AAA just tows me to a Toyota dealer, who knows when they would have a matching tire, when/how I would get home, and if my Prius would still be in one piece when the dealer opened the next day. Does anyone else worry about this? (When I had a new Acura back in about 1987, that tire was so rare that it took four days for a tire dealer in DC to locate a new tire. Never again for me.)

It has been my experience that dealers do not stock MIJ tires from the factory and most say they cannot get them. I always order them online and keep two in the garage. However with the 2016 touring I am reluctant to do this.
Remember that you can put an odd ball tire on the back without significant issues. I did that with a 422 Plus on a 2011.

I live where we have three seasons: July, August, and Winter. I'm on my third Prius. It's a 2016 III. It's gray and has more electronics than an Gruman E6 Prowler. Marvelous improvement in ride and better mileage than the GEN3s I had. Toyo LRR tires are quiet and smooth at all speeds and distances; properly inflated. Seem to show good traction; and I have a long steep driveway. I hope that helps for Toyo feedback. But when I go into the garage and get ready to go someplace, if it's snowing, I walk over to the other side of the garage and get into the 2010 Subaru Forester. It's white and has never failed me.
